Surprise! West Cornwall Local has been extended to St Austell, adding another 14.5 miles onto the route.

If this is the place to ask questions for the stream: tell us more about the railroad employees shown in one of the shots in the article. Are they randomly generated? Where can they spawn (certain stations, all stations or also along the side of the line, because that would be really cool)?

    UPCOMING
▲ ® [Core] Train Sim World 2 summer update
▲ ® [Core] Gradient profile pause screen
    ▲ ® [Core] Immersion controls 2.0
    ▲ ® [Core] TrackIR support
    ▲ ® [Core] Unreal Engine 4.26 upgrade

    IN PRODUCTION
® [Core] Train Sim World 2: Rush Hour
® [Core] PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X release
    ® [Improvement] Passenger upgrade

How is it to understand that parts of the update are at Upcoming and other parts are at In Production?
Is not everything coming at the same time?

Will that then only come with the Class 150? Or are they still thinking about what rolling stock will be included?

I hope they include something else if they can or at least add the GWE HST as a layer. I'm not a fan of the routes that come with only one loco/train.

Whist the extension to St Austell is welcome, it doesn’t really make sense to start and end the line there, nor does it provide much interest.

I’d rather Rivet delay the release and extend the line to somewhere like Liskeard, which allows them to include the Looe and Newquay branches.

The route is now 40 miles, with a journey time of around 50 minutes for an all station stopper service.

I’m really pleased with the route extension. I believe that Rivet have said that there will be another train included ( (community speculation is for a class 43) but as they haven’t announced it officially, DTG can’t put it in the Roadmap yet.

Rather have had the Falmouth branch than an extension of the main line to St Austell (which is just an intermediate station, Truro serves as a better terminus). Also because including an extra branch better reflects the 'local' point of the route, and would add more operational variety than just extending main line services by one station.

Then you might as well say, extend to Plymouth, add the Gunnislake Branch, oh, and the Bodmin Railway. We’ll be waiting years. :) Delaying the route in order to extend it further would not be an option. They need to get a product on the market in order to recoup the resource expenditure.

The extension to St Austell is interesting. There are 7 viaducts and two tunnels between Truro and St Austell.

"Upcoming" means that work has been finished and it's in testing. "In production" means they're still working on it. That doesn't mean that "In production" stuff won't be ready for release by the (unspecified) release date, since everything we have been told says that the Rush Hour core upgrades will all come out in one big download.

Question For Stream: Why is the PIS on the NEC route modeled inaccurately? Wouldn't there have been enough time to make a accurate looking PIS system?

Q for the stream: Since last weeks discussion about the PS4 save file/progress being available or maybe not for the PS5 Next Gen version, has there been any further update?

The West Cornwall extension to St. Austell makes me very happy! Adding the Falmouth branch would have been the more obvious choice at first glance, but that one includes five stations, so it would probably just have been too much work. The extension to St. Austell only adds one new station - sounds much more manageable!
I’m generally very happy with this development approach and communication: Announcing a rough outline of what’s coming and then adding additional locos and track extensions as you find out what can and cannot be done with the limited development resources that are available. Basically the opposite of Dresden-Riesa, but I just want to forget about that story at this point.
Can’t wait to play this route once it’s finished. Please don’t rush it, it’s got some great potential!

With Boston-Providence still being "in production", if accurate, there is no way this can be coming in the next few weeks. I have nothing against DTG spending more time on these Rush Hour routes but they should be upfront about it. Don't say things like "coming this summer" or "all summer long" when it is increasing clear that at least London-Brighton and possibly Riesa-Dresden won't release until the fall. Just say "coming this fall/autumn".

I think I would have preferred the Falmouth branch to have been added to be honest. It would have created a nice mini network.

I wonder if the single track between section between Probus and Burngullow will be there, if so that dates the route pre 2004.

I feel bound to ask why, in the presence of a plethora of European locos and a new UK route, there is zero, nada, zilch, zippo, goose egg North American content. Yes we have Boston Sprinter coming, but there should be a pipeline of American material too, as there has always been in TS Classic. Where is it?

Will a consist editor be a part of the scenario editor 2.0? Even of limited functionality like changing the lengths of existing consists adding/removing stock on multiple units or mixing and matching locos and consists within certain bounds?

What about making stock start out in a siding so the scenario can involve shunting or building up consists before running them up the line?

More U.S routes could be announced after rush hour releases although it's a joke in my opinion that it took 2 years for another U.S passenger route to come to tsw2. There should've been many more during that time period

Problem is where do you stop?

I personally think Par would have been better, as a natural traincrew relief point anyway, but then people would ask, why St Blazey isn’t included or just extend to Lostwithiel or you may as well include the Newquay branch too.

Extend to Liskeard, oh well you may as well include Plymouth, it never ends.

Hasn't it always been the case that Upcoming is what is included in the next update, and what is under Production is only included in one of the subsequent updates?

I'm hoping Livery Designer 2.0 introduces cross-platform Livery Sharing. :) I've been thinking about how it could work:
    1. Player A creates a livery using the in-game Livery Designer and uploads it to Dovetail Live through a new sharing button
    2. When the livery is uploaded, player A is shown a sharing code (ABC123, for example) which they can then post on social media, for example
    3. Player B (who came across the sharing code posted by player A) would then enter the sharing code in the new Livery Designer and have player A's livery downloaded and available as an option to use in TSW
I'm not personally too bothered if player B has any ability to edit the livery player A created. - We could then have a new forum thread just for sharing livery codes.

Besides the technical hurdles, I think there may be a copyright issue with DTG making real-world liveries available for anyone to download. Any sharing through a DTG platform would probably need to be heavily moderated.

It's good to see the West Cornwall Local Route being extended to St. Austell. Could I ask if the Falmouth Branch will be included too or is it only the St. Ives Branch? Thank You.

No. It just means (and always has meant) that work has been completed, and says nothing about release date (except that it isn't imminent; that would be "Next Arrival.")
