I am enjoying the new update. Runs better on my hardware. Before I could not run at 4K as performance was not so great. I drop down one level to 1800 x 3200 and turned down some settings to medium. New version runs at 60-50fps at same settings but at 4K and seems more stable. I like the new interface too. Update turns out Game defaulted to Full screen Widowed seems to run at 4K very well. However full screen 4K drops FPS in half.
It was a year ago when fans were angry because TSW 2.0 was a paid upgrade. Now it is free. Thanks DTG
I don't have the game on Steam, so no. Also I guess I should've said will it be transferrable, since currently the Epic Games version is ahead of the Steam version.
I don’t believe the two platforms are compatible with each other. I’m not sure about individual files, however.
I'm not the most tech-minded person, but... What I can say though is that DLC and paid-for content don't transfer between the platforms.
Why not? It's for the same platform. Not like asking for DLC that have been purchased on PC to work on PlayStation or Xbox or vice versa.
If you bought it from another publisher you can't expect from the the other one to give it for free for you. It's not machine dependent if you bought the game from epic, you gotta buy the dlc from there as well.....
Game licenses from Steam will not transfer to the Epic Store and vice versa. This applies not only to TSW. BR o7
Can I help you out? I am quite good in technical stuff. The ESG version stores its game save data in the Documents/My Games folder, but if you look there you see a folder named TrainSimWorldEGS. So it keeps it nicely separated. No risk to loose data. Matt said in the stream that in principle the profile status can be transferred, but you need to wait till the Rush Hour update is there. This makes sure you have the same file structure. What should not be possible is to transfer the game files between the two platforms. Each platform has its own system to make sure you have a legal copy. So, even if you can it is illegal. To conclude it, why would you want to do that? Both sales channels offer you almost the same game experience, so stay where you are. I use the EGS only to have a preview for the core update, so I can work on an update for the TSW2 Starts Guide right now. You may be aware that the EGS version at the moment has some limitations. No screenshots, no Dovetail live, no manual, probably no achievements, no guides, no forum and so on.. Hopefully this will come. And to be honest, steam is a much richer environment to play games.
Yeah that's true my bad sorry. I'm sure you got it anyway. As you said, it's selling it so you have to buy the dlc from there as well.
Just seen the scrollable in game task menu which console users can now scroll in the live stream This is a small but yet excellent fix thank you
Unfortunately, the gamepad control for older DLC locomotives was not fixed. In the special interior views (control panel, fuse box ect) still no switches operate, because you can not move. Here in the Epic version, this is still the case even with the new gamepad control for the SPG locomotives.
