So finally we are getting detail of the Cornwall route and the news (welcomed) of the extended route to St Austell. Also that we are indeed getting 150/2 sprinter. However I was under the assumption that there was to be additional locos coming with it too or did I dream that up? Fingers crossed that they put in 2+4 “Castle” sets as they are working most of the West Country routes now. On top of that we need some Vac action. Please, please, please DTG give us some Hoovers.
While many from this thread (Penzance To St. Austell And St. Ives.) have speculated an HST (the original Intercity125) to be included. But from what Rivet have said from their own forum: I doubt there's gonna be something special (in terms of reused/subbed locos), other than just one DMU for this route. It is called the West Cornwall Local after all.
Personally, I do want the HST. It does run in this area. Its basically the same as DTG calling London - Faversham High Speed when 95% of the route is limited to 75MPH and the "High Speed" services, for the most part, stop at 97% of the Stations.
There has to be "HST" in Cornwall in the 90's. 8 carriage not the castle class- too modern. There should be 47's doing the Penzance to Scotland type direction route. St Erth- St Ives will have the 150/2 What Rivet do... Who knows yet. D
