The Simplon Railway runs from Lausanne in Switzerland to Domodossola in Italy via the Simplon tunnel and has played host to a number of major international services including the Simplon Orient Express (of Agatha Christie fame). In the modern era, the route is a relatively busy SBB route combining freight, commuter, intercity and international trains. It also features some absolutely stunning scenery. As far as TSW goes I'd suggest some portion of the route from Lausanne to Sion, and potentially an extension to Brig if longer route lengths become feasible.

    The Route
Lausanne is one of the major convergences on the Swiss rail network with mainline services, there would be potential for use of AI-only services to populate the station nicely.

From Lausanne the Simplon Railway moves along lake Geneva through what is called the Swiss Riviera. Cities along the way include Pully, Vevey, and Montreux. Just after Montreux is Chillon Castle which provides some very cool photos.

The route then follows the Rhone river through Aigle, Bex, and Martigny where it turns along the Rhone into the Valais region to Sion (where two castles on outcroppings above the city are a highlight.

From there, services follow the Rhone further into the alps, connecting with the Lotschberg route from Spiez. Eventually reaching Visp and Brig. The total Length from Lausanne to Sion is 92km and 145km to Brig.

    Services and Rolling Stock
    EC, IR, and Freight
EuroCity Services use the SBB's Astoro trainsets:

InterRegio Services are typically run by Re460 Locomotives with single-level coaches:

Freight Services would typically be pulled by Re420 locomotives:

    Local Services
The RER Vaud runs from Lausanne to Aigle using Stadler FLIRT sets:

The RER Valais runs from Martigny to Brig using RBDe 560s:

Not a huge fan of the modern rolling stock, but the route looks amazing! Would be awesome to have this in TSW.
