After 819 hours (34 and a bit days), 25,930.41 miles (a round trip of the earth), 1433 medals (1059 gold, the rest hanging around for trains!), reaching driver level 745 and 11,099,480 Action Points, I have finally unlocked all 318 trophies (at time of posting) for TSW 2. I will point out at no time was I logged into Dovetail Live. Below I will post which trophies didn’t unlock as expected and after some thoughts for future trophies. Set 1 Had no real problems here except obviously the gold medals not counting from training scenarios Set 2 A few things here but most for the good except for the West Country Wanderer trophy on WSR. HMA (MAG) Thawed Out - Unlocked well before the 300km distance. Was about 130km for myself WSR West Country Wanderer - I’m surprised this is still only at 0.1% completion. I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but it is only a few round trips and a few shunts so not overly time consuming. Found 2 Class 47 services that arrive at Minehead and at the end you uncouple and draw forward to the end of platform. When you stop at the end it says ‘unexpected vehicle formation’ so you technically fail the service even though it counts it on the services counter and gives you a medal. I found that once uncoupled, if you couple back up to the train and then draw forward it’s counts it as a success. I’m pretty sure the 13:48 arrival is one of the services but not sure whether the other one is the one before or after it. I’ve also seen no one else mention this trophy so it may just be me but thought it would be helpful to mention it anyway. OSD Making Connections - Unlocked after 9 connections, not 90 NTP The Magic Number - This was the first one to unlock when the bar reached level 20 and didn’t have to fill it up again to reach 21. Some other things to note: RT German Legend - I did this before the additional services were added so not sure how this trophy is affected. Also advise getting this before downloading the 182 as it will increase the number of services to complete. IOW I downloaded this at the end of May over the bank holiday weekend and all unlocked fine. So can’t help those who have some that won’t unlock LGV As above, all unlocked as expected Set 3 No issues at all, just a few popped when reaching the level stated rather than going +1. Thoughts The ideas for the trophies are good, however, they are a bit repetitive. I know the idea of the trophies is to get you to play the game as much as possible but there are work arounds for some. Firstly, the idea of driving X train for Y miles is good but feel it should be more tailored to the train and/or route you are driving. For example LGV, drive the Duplex 200km. You can do that in about an hour, GWE, drive the 166 1660 miles (just over 50 full length trips of the route). These probably should of been the other way round. Secondly, complete X number of services. This is the main trophy type that should take the longest but we all know we can wait at the final destination, hop in the cab when it arrives, sit in the drivers seat, wait for the yellow bar to fill and bobs your uncle, you have done a service. To improve this trophy maybe make it ‘Complete X number of services with a gold medal’ (doesn’t have to be gold). I feel the medals system is completely wasted once you get the 100 medals trophy in the base list and would force you to play the game rather than loiter at stations. Thirdly, Riding as a passenger. This is a great trophy for the more scenic routes (providing the scenery isn’t a shambles!). Would like to see more of it. Finally, some thoughts for potential trophies (should go in the suggestions area but oh well!) Drive X hours on a route Give X train a new livery and run a service with it (Not on IOW!) Complete a custom scenario with X train (or on X route) Complete X number of services in (insert weather condition) Complete a service with all safety systems on (and possibly get a gold medal) Complete a service without the HUD (and possibly get a gold medal) I am a bit of a trophy hunter but I don’t really use some of the features (like livery designer and the scenario planner) as I’m focusing on the trophies. Would be great to incorporate them into DLC lists if possible. Finally (definitely this time!) would like to thank the guys who made the timetables, SMtimetables, and the collectibles lists on Steam as without you, I wouldn’t of gotten them all! Simon
That was a great read, yes I found the OSD Making connections unlocking quickly on TSW 2020! As someone who has been through the coals on TSW 2020 I was hoping that TSW2 had fixed so many of the glitchy trophy's the original had and it looks like by reading what you have put it has done so I have completed TSW 2020 set 1 trophy list and just need 3 trophy's on HRR to complete Set 2, the glitches of the game meant I spent a lot longer playing it than should have been the case as for the suggestion about trophy's for mileage that's a good point you get some trains you have to drive really slow so takes forever (like on the WSR) yet others can be done much easier as you are going faster so it needs to be adapted to the train / route its meant to be on
After finishing the final few services on RT last week I can confirm that the trophy/achievement works on completion of just the original 64 services even if you have the updated timetable. Congrats on 100% - that's one heluva feat. I'm currently 22k miles, L687 and also 34 days - with 6 achievements (4x collect all items, driving the 155 for 1550km (which is proving painful because I hate the train and you can't use it in scenario planner to boost driven miles) and one broken cheevo)) remaining for the stuff I own so I know exactly how time consuming it is.
