Yeah I think timetable + randomization would be the goal for replayability. I want to have a set of timetables I can try, but have there be an x% chance that any of the other trains on the route will be delayed / backed up / etc etc. This would, for the first time, actually create emergent, unique, procedural gameplay.

I don't care if it's TSW or TS that implements this, whichever implements this will be the one I predominantly use.

I love TS and think the graphics are absolutely fine, my main issue is the engine and performance. I have a very good gaming pc and average 80 fps on TSW2 on highest settings but drop to 20s regularly because of single threaded performance in train simulator. I tried all sorts of guides and nothing has helped. Not likely something that will ever change, and the game is good enough that I suffer through it

Well and if you combine these Real Drives scenario's with a ThirdRails Realtime timetable you have got yourself Live Servicemode in TS.

I think that would be difficult to implement in either TS2021 or TSW2
It would be difficult to add delays randomly to the trains going the opposite direction to the Player.

Not sure that’s entirely possible. BUT if random red signals were introduced to TSW service mode, then i’d be happy to camp in both camps. Because the fun for me is reacting to the signals, managing the sequrity systems. And once i’ve played a normal scenario once, the fun of that scenario is gone, since i know what happens.

That is why i thought of making random signalling in quick drives in the first place.

That would be good, but it will be awhile until it’s announced. Normally and last year the announcement was made on September 8th, with the release the following week.

Feel we are just over three weeks away (about twenty four days) from an announcement from DTG?

I'd like to see the Avelia Liberty and the Baltimore- Philadelphia Northeast Corridor, and the new update of Loco and coaches as they got complained due to the signal not compatible and the size not proper.

I doubt they would go to the expense of making new coaches

Also the 10 mk II coaches coupled together is almost equal to 10 and half of real mk II, what is the half coach for? Disco car?

Is it possible that the consist editor is unreliable, or perhaps that you're not factoring in the space between cars?

Like others have said, optimisations for better DX version, proper mutli-core performance and a version which processes nVidia PhsyX on GPUs designed to do so very quickly would be very welcome.

Wow! My guess was virtually correct!

    UK: Birmingham Cross City
    DE: Frankfurt - Koblenz
    US: NEC Washington - Baltimore

Just wish I could predict the lotto numbers...

Now that we have the three core routes, anyone want to take a stab at what the deluxe route will be?

I just hope this is good news and means they have spent some time fixing Frankfurt Koblenz. At the moment it’s a pretty route with a great train. But some holes in the scenery and some very badly bugged signals.

Taking a look at the latest routes from DTG by each nation and their release time,
    Cross City Line (19 March)
    Riesa - Dresden (11 Feb)
    Tehachapi Pass (24 June)
That would narrow it down to either a UK or DE route, presuming release is second half of Sept, and development time is about 6 months. Last year the deluxe route was UK, so this time it could be DE (if DTG alternate the nation featured each year).

Tehachapi Pass most likely, or possibly the new east coast route they are advertising

Why do DTG continue to add routes that everyone has bought to package with there yearly update released.

TS2022 comes with Birmingham Cross City
Frankfurt- Koblenz and Washington DC all previously released sometime ago. It’s frustrating for those who have bought these routes. Luckily I held back buying the Cross City and Washington but already have Frankfurt Koblenz, so will wait until TS2022 is in the sales

Because the yearly Train Simulator release is aimed at attracting new people to the game.
The people playing TS2021 will automatically get the Core Update to the game
Although once DTG brought out new routes with each years release and they seem to have given up on that.

And I doubt DTG will have fixed the Signalling Errors with the Frankfurt - Koblenz route.

I don't want Washington - Baltimore and I have Frankfurt - Koblenz so I will wait for the Cross City in the Sales

Probably because each development team is working at a different pace and synchronising three new routes to release at the same time isn't easy (aka TSW2 rush hour...). Unless you were to complete a route and hold it back for several months until all three routes were ready, and then you'd be missing out on people paying full price for each individual route.

Although I don't necessarily agree with them 'rebadging' the game every year as it is misleading to new players who are unfamiliar with the routine and only seems to create a backlash. 'Train Simulator: 2022 Collection' would be a better name to reflect what it actually is.

The new route is most likely be either a German or a UK route, there is no way DTG would make another US route so close to Tehachapi being released. Unless of course DTG pulls a surprise and does something different (But lets be real, DTG isn't gonna do that).

I would like too see another Canadian route in TS but you're correct it probably will be a big surprise and wouldn't happen. It would more likely be another German or UK route.

I would get the Dresden - Riesa route if they make it longer - too short at the moment

At the moment, due to COVID 19 and all the drama going along with TSW, I think we are going to get a UK route for the Deluxe.

I'd probably say UK route for the new deluxe version.

West Coastway line from Brighton to Portsmouth or merseyrail network? Probably won't happen but I can only dream right? I wouldn't mind seeing some 507s and 508s in the game...

I wonder if a version of North Wales Coast thru to Holyhead might be the Deluxe release?

North Wales Coastal needs to be brought back, like the South Wales Coastal. I believe the route coming in the Deluxe version will be some German route, hopefully it's on the WCML South level, maybe Frankurt - Köln?

Technically we have Frankfurt - Koln
    with Frankfurt - Koblenz
    https://store.steampowered.com/app/1267507/Train_Simulator_Frankfurt__Koblenz_Route_AddOn/
    and Koln - Koblenz
    https://store.steampowered.com/app/277739/Train_Simulator_West_Rhine_Kln__Koblenz_Route_AddOn/

The alternative route is the Schnellfahrstrecke which is up and down like a TGV line but only uses newer ICE units
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cologne–Frankfurt_high-speed_rail_line
The playability is rather low with only the ICE3 and ICE4 units permitted - AFAIK

It would be unusual to have two routes from Frankfurt in the TS2021 update.

The ICE 4 isn't even allowed on that line in real life, it's just all the variants of the ICE 3 (so BR 403 - ICE 3, BR 406 - ICE 3M, and BR407 - New ICE 3 :) ) (unless you are confusing the BR 407 for the ICE 4? )

In fact, nowadays the ICE 4 (BR 412) is allowed top. Trains on the Essen - Munich line for example run with ICE 4 trains via the Schnellfahrstrecke.

I would love to see another Canadian route but one set on the East Coast. Anything between Toronto and London ON would be good, even a TS version of TSW2's Oakville but with GO passenger trains this time. But it won't happen...
