A BNSF (ex BN) SW1500 pulls a local through town, with only inches between buildings and railcars

Even the fastest, most powerful locomotives must slow down for the 15mph curve at Carstairs East Junction. The fireman takes the opportunity to build the fire up for the climb to Abington and Beattock Summit.

Maybe British Railways should have been "not so fast" to scrap the Class 89 project.
The Class 317 & Class 365 in this shot are not in the same league, as the GNER "Badger" cruises past at 125mph.

Running behind schedule and in a rush to get out of town quickly, the engineer on a NKP hotshot merchandise freight decides to haul out on the throttle a little too quickly while getting underway. As a result the engine breaks a coupler knuckle, causing the emergency brakes to kick in. As the engineer and fireman look over the damage, the yard master storms out of his tower to yell at the two for their mistake. To add insult to injury, the crew of the local yard switcher decide to take a quick break from their duties so that they may point and laugh.
    Route Used: Bedford Junction Branch
Locomotives Used: NKP Berkshire, B&LE Six-Coupled

It's a sunny summer afternoon on the Blackwood Creek. Heading up a steam excursion special, newly restored Pennsy E6 #460 waits on a leg of a wye as an NS local freight trundles by, putting the special severely behind schedule.
    Route Used: Blackwood Creek
Locomotives Used: EMD SD40-2 High Nose, PRR E6

The Wisbech & Upwell tramway opened on August 20th, 148 years ago. A rural stangard gauge tramway fits this week's contest theme really well, so let's celebrate it together!

Changed the competition entry from that Class 04 screen (which now can be found in that TS 2021 screenshots thread) to this Cornwall Autumn slow goods impression.

Who said old rsc trees suck?

Okey Dokey Folks, Tis the time for chosing a winner.
Again, every offering has been really good and it is becoming harder and harder to select a winner, but ......................
In 3rd place Craigie-C for this excelent re-skin Badger shot
    [IMG]

In 2nd place Buynot for this terrific image of a passenger service giving way to freight.

But 1st Place in my eyes just has to go to Masire_ for this stunning shot of a Black 5 struggling to reach the top of the climb.
Congratulations on a superb shot, great composition, you almost feel for the fireman having to keep the fire going to haul this weight over the incline.

I hand the reins over to you sir
    Well Done.
