Armstrong Powerhouse have just release an enhancement pack for the 377/387&379... The first two are the same trains as run on the Brighton Mainline and will be featured in the upcoming TSW2 release. Hopefully they have half the class as showcased here...
I hope the 387 on London Brighton sounds this good as a minimum otherwise I’m Not sure how much we have progressed in the new sim. Sounds are everything to bring the experience alive and so important.
Tomorrow we’ll find out as to whether DTG managed to get new recordings for the 387, or whether they’ve just recycled the current (incorrect) sounds.
Doesn't really matter what they say - if they say they have people will say they won't believe them. If they say they didn't there'll be plenty of complaints, and at least one complainant will call them lazy. If I were DTG I'd have absolutely 0 incentive to answer that question.
Of course they'll be recycled! And if they are they'll probably get updated later or we'll be told "there's not much difference between them so we won't change it".... Let's hope I'm completely wrong
Those are some amazing sounds... It's a shame we'll likely never see this attention to detail when it comes to DTG's own sounds. I'd be surprised if we get anything over than the copy pasted sounds from East Coastway/ SEHS.
I truly hope the internal rain sounds in the 377 have been reduced in volume as I've found driving the 377 (and 375) in the rain unbearable since the sounds were adapted for TSW2.
AP have updated visuals and added screen functionality, they haven't redone the whole cab (which was made by DTG)
With sounds it's more important that the mixing, balance and coding of them is done right, and that's where it usually falls down
Unless the fact that AP released a 387 pack when the TSW BML is close is not a coincidence, I'd say it's just going to be a 377 with "an almost completely different chassis, underframe and rounded windows" Can't wait to see the same 480p speedometer from 2019 in RH
Well dtg could probably do better but they for some reason always need a third party to improve sounds. It says alot when a small company can do better than a much larger one
Hopefully BML turns out at least half of this quality. Maybe it's not a coincidence that AP did an Electrostar pack now...
WOW I absolutely love it - that passenger was swinging his arms, yeah small point I know, but the sounds were awesome. If this were available on TSW2 now with the Brighton route, I'd buy it right now and consider £24.99 good value to boot!
The EP is £17 on it's own... you need the Brighton route as well to apply this EP to (£15 at present)
Yes thanks AR but I don't have or own TS2021 and as far as I can tell looking at their website earlier this morning, it won't work on TSW2. I have Eastbourne to Brighton SE add-on ... anyway no matter. Still some impressive stuff they have.
I know the EP wouldn't work on TSW2, I was saying that at £24.99 it would be very good value An unfortunate thing you don't get in TSW2 is the breadth of alternative repaints... DTG seem to only do one paint job per loco
