......Of a feature that could make LIRR/or an LIRR-like operation less anxiety filled (due to lack of conductor). How about setting the doors to not open unless there's a platform there? For LIRR, doors do not open of there no platform. Now on the LI, doors for the whole two car set does not open. Example:if an 8 car train stops at a platform that holds 5 and a half cars, only the first four cars open. The trap door opening for low level platforms on Boston Sprinter is awesome and had me thinking if this could be used on preserved collection, can be used as I described, etc....

That is a great train of thought. Especially on LIRR, this would be really nice since otherwise all doors will be open.

And for the Electrostars, an implementation of SDO would be the best of course, but since that will probably not happen, using the same feature for these would also be a great experience :)

I imagine this will be something that Adam's crew have in their "toolkit" going forwards so hopefully more interaction with the in game world going forwards

Hope Adam gets a few more for his team, the retrofit catalogue is growing and the routes to retrofit are growing in number too.

Excellent idea indeed and for the trap doors they are actually used for low level platforms. LIRR is all 121cm 48 inches high level platforms this feature should be used for a future NJ Transit or MBTA line like Worcester.

It was said on a stream that the Pres Crew are using outside help to get some of the work done. The more resources they get the better the results will be for us, and that could include extra team members as you say.

It is not so much about different entrance heights for LIRR, but more about whether a door opens or not - but it should be something that could be implemented using the same tech that is used on Boston Sprinter for managing the different platform height door settings

I've been thinking the same thing lately. It seems like Adam is carrying the team so to speak. Every other comment made in the DTG streams seems to be something along the lines of "Adam and the preservation team will be getting to that..."

The thing is, for LIRR, they gotta have it implemented a certain way. Not just solo doors, but the whole two-car unit. If one door isn't platformed, the whole two cars don't open
