I am supposed to be working from home, so could not spend too much time playing with the game! Every time I quit the game, I get returned to the windows desktop as expected, but then an error/crash report for the game appears. Is anybody else seeing this? I will try and post the full message later.
It sounds as if it *could* be the same one that I just found after quitting the game. Does this look familiar with regard to the engine? That looks very much like the message I was getting. I've since rebooted the PC and loaded the game again and I didn't seem to get the error when I quit, so just wondering if the reboot solved it. But I will try again later this evening and report back.
I've not yet tried playing the game again since I got the error message to see if it happens again but I have reported it now by ticket as well as this area so hopefully DTG are now aware of it - or will be soon. I'm going to go back onto Steam and use the file verifier feature.
Installed on a 2nd PC. Error the first time I quit, but not the 2nd. So maybe it’s just the first time you exit the game?
That's good to know but obviously there's still an error the fact it comes up all, wouldn't you agree, even if it does turn out to be only once?
Crashes for me on exit too, but only once I've loaded into a scenario or service. If I quit straight after starting the game it doesn't crash. How much RAM do you guys have? I have 32gb
Yes Me to. I get an unreal failure Its happened every time except once. It doesn't affect the game play mind, but pretty annoying. I'm sure it will be sorted out.
I just experienced it again upon exiting the game. As you say, doesn't affect game play but still annoying. I sent off the report from within the crash report this time. Hopefully it will help them fix it.
Getting the same thing too, UE4 crash upon exiting. Exact same error as reported earlier in this topic. Fortunately haven't had a crash while playing yet, just when exiting. Verified integrity of my files before i even ran the new Boston route, also rebooted my PC and still getting that same crash on exit. Isn't hurting anything, really, just annoying at this point....
I have 32gb. This is something unique to the Steam version of the Core Update, the EPG version doesn't do it. I've submitted as a ticket on Kayako which got the reply - its your fault your drivers are bad. Well, no they're not. This is unique to the new update from Steam. EPG still plays fine. I suggest people push in helpdesk calls to get some action here.
Yes, unfortunately I got the same/similar reply - a checklist of things to check etc etc then thought sod this, it's not my system that's at fault, it's yours!!
there was one thing I did after the update and installing the Boston Sprinter. I ran a verify integrity of game files, it came up clean and the game launch and played as it did before the update.
Yes I know - I saw him say it ... good suggestion except (a) it doesn't work or fix it and (b) I'm not even sure it's the game itself causing it. I'm no techie but could be the loader? I don't think they understand the scope of this or how many are being affected. I did suggest they have a look in the forum!
Here is a question as I seen one person say they were able to fix it. Did you prior to the update have any mods installed, as sometimes the uninstaller may not necessarily remove all of the mod leaving traces behind. This user had uninstalled TSW and deleted it from the steam folder, then reinstalled and no more issues.. Just a thought.
I've reinstalled the game for the third time and it still has this problem of crashing when exit game, and I don't even use mods.
This also happened to me, but it was not on quit but selecting some missions on Cab Car at 18:59, but the message seems exactly the same
Who knows. There are a thousand possible things that could cause the crash on TSW2's end. Could be a specific combination of DLCs (or lack thereof,) certain combinations of in-game setting, and so on and so forth. None of which are user-error and would require a fix from DTG. So please stop trying to shoot the fix for this bug in the foot.
I initially thought it only happened the first time. I played and exited a lot yesterday after a few short sessions and no further crashes..... Then today they are back. Both Laptop and PC have crashed on exit today. For me it seems if I quit from the options menu I get the crash. If I quit from the main menu, I don't. EDIT - That's not the pattern. Just crashed from the main menu as well.
Who said I was trying 'shoot the fix for this bug in the foot", I was only offering advise as anyone else would have offered.
I am also getting the crash on PC. Haven't tried anything to resolve it yet. I'll try updating all my drivers and rebooting later today. Edit: Updated drivers, rebooted and the game will still crash when selecting the exit option while in a route. The game exits cleanly when going back to the main menu and then exiting.
I experienced the same exit program failure, before the update never happened, the TSW2 was - on my experience - fairly stable. After the update (the Rush Hour), exiting from the 'esc' menu during a gameplay resulted in the fault (with additional Win10 subsystem FaultsTolerantHeap error). I am a bit disappointed and hope a solution that would be not 'downgrading back video drivers' as usual. I've notice also several damaged files in my AMD Radeon graphic card in need of a repair (done). I have not an idea at this point whether the two events (TSW2 failure and graphics driver corruption) might be related.
My install is clean with no mods (for a change) so I suspect crash isn't related. I'm not to fussed about it, it only happens on exit. It'll get sorted.
DTG asked for a lot of support info after I pointed them at this thread, I've provided everything they asked for, hopefully it helps.
Hi guys, a few minutes ago, while I was playing on Peninsula Corridor, halfway through the game the game suddenly crashed with the same error that the other players posted. We hope they will solve the problem soon because it is the second time that the game crashes after having affected the last update .. PS: I don't have any mods installed.
OK, I enforced DirectX 11 by the Launch options -DX11 and the game exited without crash. Will make some more runs this way and see what happens...
I had the same crash twice, while playing the Boston Route. Never happend on exit. I have 32 GB RAM and a RTX 3080 Ti
One more person to the list. I have had the closing the game crash twice today. Interesting that yesterday it was fine the first time after the big update. PC wise nothing has changed In the game I changed some graphics settings (Texture and View Distance to Ultra) todat, and I think it could be related.
