So, I heard it on the grape vine (well this forum) that the new PS5 version of the above route has the bay water re-instated, so is this ever going to appear in the PS4 version or is this another ‘PS4 memory limitation’ issue? Apologies if this is treading over old ground,

Thanks Nat, not sure why someone on the forum posted that the water was back on PS5 when it wasn't then but still a relevant question I think, I have been playing the route more as we have limited choices at the moment and it is a shame its not there. I appreciate there are bigger fish to fry though currently.
I played with this route on ps5 a few days ago and it took a few seconds to load the water in the bay area but it finally appeared.
Ah, so it is there on PS5 now, Thanks for confirming. If it is taking time to load on PS5 then it will probably be a memory/performance issue on PS4 which is preventing it from being implemented but still, makes the Route feel unfinished.
...it is possible to display the bay area water texture on PS4, but with the free camera far out from the tracks. I took this screenshot one month ago, to test if it's still there. It is correct that it is not displayed due to the RAM limitation on PS4. Another reoson might be, that it is a dynamic texture with a changing wind pattern, what demands additional performance.
Don’t forget, Adam’s changes to Pen haven’t taken been announced or take effect yet. The water might have been optimised to appear better. There are some late scenery assets appearing such as the freeway flyover that may have hopefully been addressed.
Same here. Takes a while to drop in, and goes from the sludgy brown to the proper moving water texture.
