I think many can agree on the fact historical routes are very very interesting. Modelling Conrail would be no exception. This fallen flag railroad had a very unique locomotive roster, and many locomotives could be reused from SPG. The C40-8W, SD40-2, GP38-2. Additionally adding locomotives like Dash 7s would be pretty amazing too. There is plenty of money to be made in this section of historical routes. Many people seek interest in the recent predecessors of modern railroads. Doing a late 80s early to mid 90s route would be optimal to ease the development of equipment. My Conrail loco suggestions are a C39-8, SD80MAC, SD70MAC, and SD45-2. A GP40-2, GP35, or GP38-2 in Conrail livery would be perfect for yard and local duties.
