Place the following entry into your Engine.ini file

    ts2.dbg.RelinquishPromptWaitTime=

Then specify how many seconds until the "do you want to give up control?" prompt appears after leaving the drivers chair. The chosen value also determines the frequency of subsequent prompts.

For example, ts2.dbg.RelinquishPromptWaitTime=60 means you will be asked if you would like to relinquish control to an AI driver 60 seconds after initially leaving the driver's seat, then every 60 seconds thereafter.

The default value is 120 seconds.

    Notes:
If you have never previously modified your Engine.ini file, add the following at the very end of the file.

    [SystemSettings]
    ts2.dbg.RelinquishPromptWaitTime=

    Default location of Engine.ini file:
    \Documents\my games\TrainSimWorld2\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

Thank you to Anna_AWVR for sharing this very useful command over on the Discord Server.

I hope you find this useful :)

Are you suggesting not to provide a value to turn the feature off?

Very useful indeed, one of the most annoying features.

Wonder if you could use a value of say 1200 seconds which is 20 minutes. That would, in effect, turn it off.

I have tried with a value of 9999, and it is working, is basically shutting it off

No idea if the devs are watching but this feature would be *much* better as either a keyboard shortcut or even just a menu option (therefore not requiring a special control assignment for consoles). I frequently like to hop on and off services but it's frustrating to see a train just sit in the station once I'm done with it because I haven't immediately got another service to take over.

I would actually find a shorter time more useful in some circumstances, when I really do want to relinquish control and not be stuck with it for a long time.

I must admit if you take sand patch and do walk to end of train it’s a pain in the proverbial

Yeah having it as a shortcut or just an option in the pause menu would actually make it useful, thanks for the engine command!

    Thank you :)

My understanding is that having no value set will use the default value for that command (in this case 120 seconds).

You could try using "=0" (not something I've tested) to see if that deactivates the prompt entirely, or a high number as other have suggested.

    Enjoy :)

After the latest update, my entry vanished and had to put it back in when I started to get that annoying box again.

RelinquishPromptWaitTime=0 indeed bans the baffling prompt, for at least 16 minutes, and I guess up to the next update.

Unfortunately I WANT to be able to give up control to ai driver but the prompt isnt appearing at all. I thought maybe DTG had removed this on the last update but it seems that other users are still getting it. Strange.

Well I deleted the \Documents\my games\TrainSimWorld2\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor folder and it`s working again now, including the ts2.dbg.RelinquishPromptWaitTime=60 which I added to the new rebuilt folder
