I decided to get some locomotives operated by CSX that could be used for dlcs, it could either be for Sand Patch Grade, or for a new route. GE ES44AH i feel like this locomotive is a must have because it’s one of the most iconic and successful locomotives in America GE AC6000CW this locomotive is visually similar to the AC4400CW that is already in the game. However it has 6000 horsepower, rather than 4400 EMD SD70ACE Another iconic American locomotive is the SD70ACE, making it another must have locomotive EMD SD70AH the SD70AH is similar to the SD70ACE but slightly different; the most notable difference being different windows MP15DC although this locomotive is already in the game for Caltrain, we don’t have it for CSX yet. Since you probably wouldn’t want to pay for the same locomotive twice, it should probably be a base locomotive for a future route. There is also a mod that adds the MP15DC in CSX livery
There is one more locomotive I wanted to include but I ran out of photos for: EMD GP60 This is sort of the oddball out of my picks, but that is why it would be good as it would add more variety
CSX only had 20 SD70ACe's, and sold them to PRLX in 2017. This is actually an SD70Ace-T4, a tier IV compliant version of the SD70ACe. CSX labels them as ST70AH, not SD70AH (An SD70AH is a heavier version of an SD70ACe.) Also, CSX only owns 10 of these..... CSX only owns 3 of these, and a recent photo of one of these shows it in a deadline in Ohio. Not sure the state of the other 2.
My two comments. (Most the issues have been covered) 1. I think all of CSXs MP15s are AC models. 2. Well I love the AC6000CW it would have to be a retro pack. Most have been sold off and prior to that where downgraded.
Both the ES44AH and AC6000CW are in my oppinion to similar to the AC4400 to warrant a DLC at the current stage of TSW2. People have already said that about the Dash 8 although that does at least have quite the difference due to the analogue cab and DC traction equipment. the GP60 and SD70 look interesting though.
I Agree with Jonne the AC6000CW and ES44AH Are Very similar to the AC440CW, it would probably be Best to put those in a nee Route, i also wish to add the GP15s, mainly because they ate just so Dinky and Small
The picture above is definitely not the MP15DC. It's either the MP15AC or MP15T (almost impossible to distinguish between the 2). Besides the obvious difference in length of the hood, there are some other differences, even in the livery. If you're on PC and want a proper CSX MP15DC, feel free to download the CSX MP15DC YN3 Mod*. It adds a brand new loco to the game, so the Caltrain MP15DC remains fully intact and usable, and runs all the Sand Patch Grade yard services. * mod requires Peninsula Corridor Route and Caltrain MP15DC Loco Add-on.
