    Screenshot_Steam Era Bedford Junction Branch_40.06479--79.82699_09-10-48.jpg
A Pennsylvania Railroad I1 Decapod idles on the ready tracks just outside the Bedford Junction Roundhouse, awaiting its next assignment. Notorious for being rough riding engines, most Pennsy crew members would get a back ache just by looking at them. One track over the local yard switcher, an H10 Consolidation, also waits for its next assignment.

Locomotive Used: PRR I1, PRR H10

Now on the road with a mixed freight, the I1 rolls through a rural grade crossing. While setting up his shot, the railfan chasing this train elected to leave his 1940s Chevrolet in frame.

    Screenshot_Union Pacific's Wasatch Grade_41.07648--111.72309_22-11-48.jpg
Having talked his way into a late night ride over Wasatch Grade, a railfan snaps a picture of a Big Boy from the cab of an FEF-3 class Northern. Following the ride, the crew was kind enough to arrange another cab ride to take him back to Morgan the next morning. It was a night he would certainly never forget.
Route Used: Union Pacific's Wasatch Grade
Locomotive Used: Union Pacific FEF-3, Union Pacific Big Boy
(This screenshot and description are both loosely based on the cover story from the Spring 2007 issue of Classic Trains Magazine. Check it out if you ever get the chance.)

Seen on the approach to Reedham is 20305 with 1Z21 15:38 Great Yarmouth-Norwich. Having arrived with 37423 and 37059 earlier at Norwich with 'The Broadsman' railtour, the tour was split in 2 with 20305 heading to Great Yarmouth and 37423 and 37059 heading to Holt on the North Norfolk Railway.
Upon arrival at Norwich the train will be reformed and head back to Crewe as 1Z40 17:18 Norwich-Crewe.

Seen passing Colton South Junction, 66560 leads classmate 66527 and 4 HHAs on 4K60 10:07 Hunslet Yard (Flhh)-York Yard South (Fhh). The HHAs are on their way to receive attention at Freightliners depot at York and usually run with a few 66s. This was a common occurrence up until a few years ago until coal traffic declined and many of the HHAs went into storage.

    And finally...

Seen erupting out of Blackpool North is 37414 'Cathays C&W works 1846-1993' on 1D80 10:15 Blackpool North-Holyhead club train. Usually full of enthusiasts, there were probably very few people actually going to Holyhead for the ferry!
37414 would continue until March 2009 before being scrapped.

We had no reply from the winner of last week's competition. I sent him a private message asking if he is still having any issues with his device.
With no reply by 16.00 GMT today, we will close this one and move on to the next week.

I received a reply from him. He told me that he is on his backup device that is too slow to even load images. :|

So I guess I will have to take over as an interrim judge. That would make my entries out of scope for the contest of course. :(

    So here are the results:

3rd place is cscarpenter with the Fowler goods train:

2nd place is Buynot with this B&W steam shot. Nice composition and I feel its fun to have more B&W or otherwise edited contest entries.

1st place goes to Craige-C, for this amazing engineering works shot. Very busy and interesting scene, lots going on - wouldn't mind having this as one of the official loading screens for TS.

Congratulations to everyone for taking part! :D

No way. Post #15 has to be there. I know I'm easily pleased with green :(
My top three would be #15, #21 and #13 in no particular order, honorable mention to #11 and both of Nick Y's posts.

Post 15# can't win, becuase that's my screen and I couldn't vote for myself.

I know this ended up confusing, but previous week's winner can't judge due to technical issues. So for the contest to go on, I took over as an interrim judge for no other reason than the fact that I started the thread. So that made all my entries null and void tbh.

If the next contest theme will be appropriate, I may re-enter with that screenshot if everyone else wouyld agree.

Thanks Ardaeshir for stepping in as interim judge, much appreciated.
Totally agree, but good news is he gets to play next week where as if he had won, he couldn't, clouds & silver linings etc.
Personally I had the Class 37 Blackpool Clagger shot #9 down as a winner as soon as I saw it.
Anyways, onwards & upwards, I shall launch a new thread immediately.

    Edit: Here you go guys.
