Purpose Of Bak_ File In Tsw2 Storage?

I have something called a bak_ file which seems to be a copy of my settings file.

However when trying to back this up to usb it wont allow it.

Deleting the bak_ makes no difference as the game auto creates one every hour

My suspicion this is a back up file that is new post ue upgrade?

Any thoughts/ comment?

 

I believe it’s a back up file, you’ll find the same file name minus the bak in the saved storage area.

think it was there in 2020 version also

 

Excellent I wonder under what circumstances the game has cause to pull data from it

I can only assume here but if the main profile or save goes missing or corrupted the game will then seek the bak, copy and rename removing the bak naming to keep things going
