As Rush Hour is well and truly underway with the routes now at the release stage, what could happen next? Well, we already have the news of Meißen for Dresden, and two new US routes, and it'll likely prove that after Dresden and Brighton release the next UK and German routes are announced, respectively. However, there is one other option at hand. Loco DLCs. The three routes all have a "missing" loco, and all could be fitting DLCs for the respective routes. Let's take a look: Boston - Providence • Acela Express The Acela Express is the United States' High-Speed Service, stretching up the North East Corridor from Washington D.C. to Boston. The route featured in Boston - Providence includes the US' only 150mph section of track, which only Acela services can reach. In game, Acela services are not included, Instead there is a gap, waiting for a DLC to come along like this. Acela Trainsets are also capable of Tilting. Stations The stations on the line served by Acela services are; - Boston South Station - Boston Back Bay - Route 128 - Providence There are 20 trains per day(?) of the Acela Express (overall), and, as said above, this route shows it's fastest section. Riesa - Dresden • ICE T The ICE T is the ICE's only Tilting Train, capable of Tilting up to 8°. Split into two classes, the DBAG 411 and 415, with the former having 7 Coaches, and the latter 5, the ICE T entered service at a similar time to the Acela Express, 1999. ICE 50 (Dresden - Wiesbaden) is the only ICE Route that serves Dresden, calling at (on the represented route); - Dresden Hbf - Dresden Neustadt and - Riesa There is a train every 2 hours along the entire line. (approx.) Brighton Mainline • Class 700 The BR Class 700 (Thameslink) Is the most modern of the three units shown here, having entered service in 2016. Operating all Thameslink services today, the locos see service between places such as Bedford, London and Brighton. Thameslink operate a massive amount of services on the line. Service patterns are as follows: (On BML) 2tph • Cambridge (Starting East Croydon) - Brighton 2tph • Bedford (Starting East Croydon) - Brighton 2tph • Peterborough (Starting East Croydon) - Horsham (Ends at Three Bridges) via Redhill 2tph • Bedford (Starting East Croydon) - Gatwick Airport Which means that, between Gatwick Airport and East Croydon, the Class 700 would be operating 8tph. Other Features The Class 700 could have the special Rainbow/Trainbow livery, similar to SEHS' Class 395. (If the ICE or Acela have any special liveries, they could be made as well) Speaking of SEHS, the Class 700 would also be able to run there if wanted, as it operates services to/from Rainham. Of course, Tilting would also be brought in for the ICE and Acela units. Final Points Obviously these would be seperate because not everyone will have the Season Ticket. If these get a 'Season Ticket' of their own is a different question. Thanks For Reading.
Definitely would like to have Thameslink Class 700s. Possibly could get Southern Class 455 instead for shorter London suburban services.
Acela: Please yes! ICE-T: Good one, though I'd prefer ICE2 Class 700: Don't particularly care for British trains that much, but that's just me. Don't forget high door DoStos though! Though ironically Riesa Dresden it actually doesn't make sense to have that one from what I saw. Still, DTG should really get on that at this point. For German content though, I believe Riesa Dresden already has pretty much every rolling stock that operates there irl at this point, does it not? Is there anything we can suggest that drives there that isn't already in the game? Maybe IC2 Still though, mainly interested in the Acela here!
This one would be incredibly interesting though as a DLC for Riesa Dresden! Stadler KISS DB IC. Basically a new iteration that has similar functionality to DoStos but making it an EMU (Electric Multiple Unit) instead. I'm not sure if it drives on that line itself per se, but it'd still be really nice I feel like.
I'm not sure what the IC Stock is on the line, but ICE 50 - the only ICE Line (as far as I know) going to Dresden - is operated by ICE T's as of the modern day. IC2 would be nice, however.
Yeah, ICE-T would probably be the best option indeed, and I feel like it'd be a pretty popular one too. But yeah, more DoStos and IC variety is needed.
Come to think of it, perhaps it'd be a good idea to change your poll a little bit. Instead, you could make it so that people can choose multiple options and have every option apart, both as full and on-sale options. So for example: Which Loco DLC would you find interesting for Rush Hour? -All -Acela -Acela (but only if on sale) -ICE-T -ICE-T (but only if on sale) -Class 700 -Class 700 (but only if on sale) -Non -Other (Tell me in the comments) This would make it so that it's much more orderly and so that if any of the DTG staff members came to look here and used this poll to help decide what's most popular they'd have a much better understanding of how popular every choice is, and so it'd help them prioritize better. Just an idea though
Excellent Idea and you are missing something for Riesa-Dresden the DB BR147 IC2 the IC55 line to Köln Hbf which also Runs on Rhein-Ruhr Osten. Boston-Providence should be HSP-46 with Acela Express or make the line 2020-2021 with HSP-46 Avelia Liberty Acela Express.
I'm suggesting the locos that are - from what I've seen - the most wanted. Boston is set in 2019. Avelia Liberty is not happening.
Thank you for telling me about this and for ICE-T Riesa-Dresden it can also layer to Main Spessart Bahn & Rhein-Ruhr Osten ICE 91 line Hauptstrecke München-Augsburg ICE Lines 18 ,25 & 26. Otherwise it would be a waste of ICE-T running on a single German route even though in life it runs on RRO Main Spessart Bahn Hauptstrecke München-Augsburg. Basically continuing the trend of German routes giving layers to other German routes.
Boston Sprinter just feels empty without Acela. The route has the highest speed in the whole of the US and due to this it should be possible to take advantage of it. Why could we have not had both? Most of the work for the ACS 64 was done years ago
Indeed, and the spaces in the Timetable have been left for it. It's highly likely it will turn up - the ICET and 700 would also most likely come for the other two.
This train drives to Berlin/Warnemünde. In Timetablemode just Dresden Hbf - Dresden Neustadt than it will desapeer in the "Weißinger Kurve" to Berlin.
I'd love to see these 3 trains appear on their respective routes, along with other trains, like maybe the IC2, the BR 248 (Siemens Vectron) for Freight Services, and maybe the Class 455 for BML (if we get a substantial Southern Metro Route/Route Extension).
