    Gilroy Route-Extension

Train Sim World 2 should have its first route extension. The route extension I wanna see is in Peninsula Corridor. For the moment Peninsula Corridor only goes from San Francisco to San Jose, But I wanna change that, so it goes as far as Gilroy.

These are all the stops to Gilroy.

    MPI F40PH-2C

I wanna see the MPI F40PH-2C, the cummins version of the CalTrain EMD F40PH-2CAT in the game because it is the only CalTrain locomotive that is excluded in TSW2. Cummins-powered HEP generators; No. 920 bore Operation Lifesaver logo until 2019; underwent mid-life overhaul by MPI at Boise, Idaho between 2017 and 2020. I know that some of you would be thinking that people wouldn't be interested in paying for it because its very similar, but I want it to get bundled in with this route extension.

    Manufacturer: MPI
    Build date: 1998
    Length: 56ft
    Top Speed: 103-110mph
    Horsepower: 3,200
    Numbers: 920-922
    [IMG]

I also think that there should be this (idk what its called) baggage car thing. Its excluded in the Caltrain Gallery Car fleet. All I can is send this. And it's always the second last coach in a Caltrain consist.

Absolutely nobody can tell the difference on this but there should also be F40PH-2s. numbers 902, 903, 907, 910, 914. If you are wondering what the difference is, the difference is that the F40PH-2 has some sort of walkway on the back whereas that F40PH-2CAT hasn't. Here's a photo of the walkway on the back of the locomotive. Ik what you're thinking, you probably can't see very well because it is camouflaging in there.

    F40PH-2

    Manufacturer: EMD
    Built date: 1975-1992
    Length: 56ft
    Top Speed: 103-110mph
    Horsepower: 3,200
    Numbers: 902, 903, 907, 910, 914.

    GP60
    Manufacture: EMD
    Build Date: 1985-1994
    Length: 59 ft
    Top Speed: 65 mph
    Horsepower: 3,800

I want all of these to get bundled in with each other. Hopefully they do it and pls don't say that route extensions won't happen. If u did, please don't worry about it because u said it before I said this. Thank you for listening.

Didn't they straight say they ain't gonna happen? Bad profit margin since the market is only people who already bought the base route.

Well also less cost to do, as the majority of the route is already there. And might make more people buy the route.

Ignoring for a minute that DTG have explicitly said they're not going to do this, and the fact that they probably ended the line at San Jose because the scenery is less interesting/more repetitive from that point on, I'd still have to question the value of the 'new' train as a purchase. It's literally the same as the CAT version, but with a different make of generator, right?

The F40PH-2Cs that Caltrain operates are actually very different that the EMD F40PH-2(CAT)s that they have. The F40PH-2(CAT)s were built by EMD in the 1980s, and originally came as standard F40PH-2s. In the late 90s they were rebuilt by Alstom, with most of them becoming F40PH-2CATs, as they received a separate HEP generator. For whatever reason, a few of them stayed as F40PH-2, not receiving the CAT generator, and keeping their rear platform. They have standard EMD control stands, as depicted in game. The F40PH-2(CAT)s are 900-919 in Caltrain's fleet. The F40PH-2Cs they have are MPI F40PH-2Cs built by Boise (now MPI) in the late 90s, numbers 920-922. They came after EMD had ended production of the F40 themselves. They are of the same design as the ACE and COASTER locomotives, featuring desktop controls and a longer frame. The locos themselves are a few feet longer, having both a separate HEP generator and rear platform. So while they seem quite similar, they are very different locomotives technically speaking, and at the very least would require a completely new cab and changes to the frame.

But I think a Gilroy extension and F40PH-2C would be a great addition, especially if we could get the new 104 train timetable that differs greatly from the 2019 one in game.

Right now the chances of that happening are low to 0 but the more time goes by the more everyone will get bored of driving koln Aachen nonstop and if we haven’t demanded route extensions enough you will always be bored of any routes that you have by then

Personally, I dont see the route extension happening untill the upgrades and extension to Salinas happens. In which the route could be released as a stand alone route. Which is supposed to have both Caltrain and Amtraks Capitol Corridor trains go to Salinas. You can also throw in Union Pacific services in Watsonville, the rock plant between Watsonville and Gilroy, plus the local that runs to Hollister. You also have the Coast Starlight that has stops at San Jose and Salinas.

Also, add a UP GP60 and a few more freight cars for more freight operations.

3 on a regular schedule, 3 morning, 3 evening. The North and Southbound Coast Starlight travel this route, as well as any UP freight to and from Watsonville, Graniterock Quarry at Logan, the Hollister Local, some baretable moves, and 1 once in a blue moon autorack train.

There is plans to expand service to Salinas in the future with both Caltrains and Amtrak's Capitol Corridor, but Covid threw a wrench into those plans.

They have that extension in ts classic so i wonder why they didn't include it in the base route from the start, the demand for extensions is there but dtg is more focused on €€€ so bringing in new players with bitesize routes is gonna stick around for some time i'm afraid
