163 miles from London to Manchester
    174 miles London to Exeter
    Not going to happen.
Only one that has a small chance is Cambridge to Ipswich at 44 miles and dtg is not going to have the resources to insert all of greater Anglia current trains, especially as none are already in the game or in fact TS classic

Yawn. At least entertain us with some pictures of trains (do the research and tell us what those latest trains actually are) and some little inspirational nugget of information about what we might expect to see on the route.

It's little wonder that new forum users are reluctant to post when they're met with sarcasm and hostility from the likes of you.

    They're right, however.

These suggestions are near enough useless.

No Information, no images to see what it is, etc.

Suggestions are mostly trying to sell it to the community, and obviously letting DTG know.

So really these suggestions are near enough useless, with no offence to the OP.

There's no sarcasm there. I genuinely want them to tell me some thing useful and interesting about the route. If they're making a suggestion, there's probably some reason that they're hoping it appears in the game. Even something as simple as "I really like the way the 800 looks in GWR green - here's a picture, isn't it cool?" is way more useful than "I want [any route that someone may never have been on or near]".

I've only ever made one route suggestion on these forums [here] and it had pictures, maps, descriptions of landmarks, options for future DLC...

If they're not willing to add any more than than a list of places that trains might go, they may as well not bother.

    Precisely :)

But dtg won’t make longer routes if we stop asking and demanding longer routes

They can't, though. It takes too much time to develop, which would raise costs and raise prices - something they don't want to do. So no point.

Plus ~160mi ain't happening until a month of Sundays. Lucky to get that on a TS route unless it's a massive megaproject by JT or something.

There are very good reasons why they won't make routes over 150 miles long. Firstly, the cost of doing so with any level of detail would be prohibitive - they'd need to charge more so less people would buy so they'd need to charge even more and the cycle continues until it's not worth doing.

Secondly, many buyers simply don't want a route that will take them several hours to drive. Yes, a little longer would probably be appreciated for the high speed routes, but most would probably agree that a well detailed short route with branches, passenger/freight choices, and multiple loco options gives more variety and replay value than a long route through nondescript countryside. You may be in a position to sit down at your computer and do a full shift as a train driver, but most people (particularly a majority of the console players – which is the majority of TSW2 players) are not able to do that. For them, having loads of services much over an hour is pretty pointless.
