Is that a 465 I see here? Also...

(Going to do a bigger post on how many services this route could have later).

Nice to see SE stock on the route; I assume that the 375 will also appear. But the question still remains on if the 166 will appear between Reigate and Gatwick and at Brighton.

It looks busy. I remember on one of the streams, Matt said, it will be the busiest route in TSW to date. Good.
Do you mean SEHS & 465 will be heavily discounted? :D

Between Purley and Earlswood, the fast and slow lines split the fast run on what's known as the "Quarry Line".

So it’s like the avoiding line on BRD but this is just for freight ? Or does GX use it as well

Yeah it's a line with no stops on for fast trains. Freight usually takes the line with stops. I think on Riesa-Dresden the avioding line was built with freight and IC/ICE in mind.

It used to be used by any trains that didn't stop at Redhill (this was my experience up to the mid-1990's). I'm guessing it is still the same

I see you've changed the PIS on the Electrostars so it's not unrealistically wide like before, a much needed change that.

Looking forward to the preview stream!

Of the three routes released through the season ticket, this is the one that I have been waiting for. What would be great would be if East Coastway could be amalgamated so that a days working could be scheduled instead of individual journeys.

Looking good so far, but I do have to wonder who designed the CRANES at Battersea...

Yes you can have cranes where the boom arm is angled, but the cab and the wires holding the jib are usually level!
The operator would get sick operating those things all day

The new PIS looks great on the 377 and 387! It's also great to see SE stock on the route as London Victoria would have been far too empty without it. The 387 looks super nice too. Can't wait for the preview stream! I assume that's what is planned for next Thursday, but hasn't been confirmed in case it isn't ready, so don't feel like you need to rush or anything. If it need extra time to be worked on, just say so as we all want it to be the best it can be.

Also it looks like that gravity doesn't apply to the hook.

As well as an upgraded front display, the side displays on the 377 now also feature scrolling destinations, as per real life.

I got excited because I can update my spreadsheet, why am I like this? :|

But yeah, the inclusion of the 465 is a very welcome thing, I am certainly looking forward to the next articles detailing the layering. Exciting news indeed.

Nice to see, as others have pointed out, the improvements to the PIS. The cranes definitely need a bit of a do-over but on the whole, very pleased with this update, I'm looking forward to future news on this one.

But it seems different on the 377, as big as on the old, will the change like on the 387 get implemented there as well?

Oh wow. Those screenshots look fantastic. Battersea Power Station looks every bit as iconic as it should do. The cranes next to Battersea Power Station though are bloody awful. Slanted cabs… nah!

You can exactly see how that happened. The tower is one asset, the arm with cab and counterweight is another. Well, it has to be angled, doesn't it, so let's put asset nr.2 at an angle. :D I mean... it's "just" cranes, the rest so far looks good... but it's pretty ridiculous nonetheless (the hooks especially). And considering I'll see this every time I look at such a landmark Battersea is... OH NO...

They absolutely have to be fixed before release. Once seen never unseen.

    It’ll drive us mad.

I have never seen a crane look like that except when maybe being brought down in high winds (but even then, the hook dangled towards Earth).

387s has a much smaller font than the earlier 377s (377/1, 3, 4, 5). The 377/6 and /7 share the same font as the 387.

All I can say is that the pictures of the route and the trains must be impressive if all that people can find to complain about are the cranes. :)

Hopefully the “TBC” stream on Thursday will be the first preview stream.

    Probably about right
    Make a tower crane frame.
Realise you've made it too short
Rather than double up the frame just angle the whole top unit
Forget the fact this tilts the whole thing because it doesn't have physics...

My suggestion would be to double the body and put the BOTTOM one upside down (so the lights aren't seen unless you're right on top of them)
Should take about two minutes per crane

The 465 is on discount on the PS store now. I just got it earlier today (half expecting it to be used in this route) and the BR 101 for the (currently missing on PS5) Dresden route’s layer.
If you already have them you would not be in need of a discount. For those who do not have them, they might like a discount to get all the layers on this route.

Looks like the Reading service is in the timetable based on the Reigate screenshot, as there is a 2nd service between the 10:00 and the 10:23 terminating London Victoria service. These would normally slot around the 10:05 GWR Reading service. Whether it's a 166 remains to be seen though.

That is worrying. If there's no time for a custom asset, at least use something resembling a station building even if it's a re textured GWE jobby.

No reason not to include the relative handful of GWR services as a layer, since they already have the train.

Will the "new" BML 377 become available as a sub on ECW?

I think we can assume so considering we can pick enhanced versions on other DLC’s.

I do wonder what the substitution implication is with such things however as I’ve seen it said that there is no relative control over substitution.

Maybe we will see some weird looking 377’s and then some better looking versions on ECW.

Will it be also the laggiest route in TSW to date?
