Hey guys, question.. How do I brake on afb? Like when I hit a 1000hz magnet on pzb to 85, do I just set the afb to 80 and it will decel without me applying brakes ?
The best is to use AFB only to maintain your speed and using brakes to slow down PS I never use AFB for braking. I am only lowering the target speed for AFB after I have slowed down.
Indeed. What you described is the prototypical use of AFB since AFB would never be used for braking in real life.
In fact, DB regs prohibit the use of AFB for speed reductions. Brake, reduce throttle to Off, adjust AFB, release brakes and apply throttle when at new speed. (although TBH if it's a minor reduction like 120 > 110, I just let AFB do it. But NEVER with a PZB-monitored decrease to 80 or below.
Do brakes always come before throttle reduction under the regulations? Does braking automatically cancel the throttle even if it is at a setting above 0? Thanks!
Applying brake automatically kills the throttle; throttle function can't be restored until the brakes are released and the power handle reset to Off. (in the HUD, the box around the power setting turns red, to indicate no throttle function)
