These mods were originally made for the old NEC NY route, but have now been converted to Boston. I did not make this, but I want to share it. https://mods.trainsimcommunity.com/...ives/i1447-amtrak-acs-64-texture-enhancements https://mods.trainsimcommunity.com/...k/i1448-amtrak-amfleet-i-texture-enhancements
Thank you for posting this mod along with the video. The trains will look so much better now when playing.
Mod creator/porter here! I appreciate all the support! I wanted to make sure I could do Nexo's work justice so I put a lot of time into making sure I had the latest versions of his original mods. It feels so good to finally get them out the door and into the hands of the community.
Anna, thanks for all your work. Just went to your site and there are a lot of great meds for TSW2 to choose from.
It's something you probably wouldn't notice without knowing about it but I had a walk around the loco after installing the mod and the dead bugs all over the front of the loco are a brilliant little detail that I've never seen on another loco in the game but that is something you see on every train around the world.. Love it.
There's also this one for the route in general that is designed to work with the two mods you've mentioned already..... Boston Sprinter General Patch - Train Sim Community
I don't know which of these mods causes it, but after installing all 3 of them and giving it a try, the rain/snow drop effects on the ACS-64 are broken. They only form on a really small portion of the windshield, in the upper right corner. Can anyone confirm if they also experience this? Also after a bit of driving, suddenly the whole world just got a lot brighter, even though it was a night run past 21:00. The sky remained dark, but the scenery and everything else got bright. I don't know whether the mod caused it or not, because I've never experienced it before, but I don't see how a simple texture mod could cause it.
Happens on all routes after the Rush Hour update. Starts in the dark and the - BOOM, Let it be light! Does not seem to be caused by mods - happened to me before any of mods were converted to 4.26 and installed.
I suppose that's possible, I just havn't done much night runs before. But I'll give it a go without mods as well, as I will need to test which mod causes the buggy rain effects on the ACS-64 anyway.
This also happens on Clinchfield when doing night time services in the snow so it is not caused by mods. It looks awful when it happens.
Yeah, so it looks like it's the ACS-64 texture mod that causes the broken windscreen rain effects. After removing it, it's back to normal, even with the other 2 mods installed.
You can see it a few posts back. The rain/snow effect on the windscreen gets broken and it only renders in the upper-right corner of the windscreen.
What I keep asking myself is why? because DTG, we still depend on moders for simple things, couldn't you DTG do the job! Moders have been fixing DTG S...for years on either the TS2021 or the TSW2. And worse I don't see
In this case at least the problem is legal: the license-granting TOCs won't let their trains be depicted as dirty.
I'll take a look. I never actually tested the reskin in snow or rain and I rarely run services so I thought everything was fine. I'll see what I can do but I'm not sure if I'll be able to fix it. The windshield was in-fact modified to have a darker tint. I'm not sure if that is the cause. I cannot say when I'll be able to get around to fixing this (I have a ton of projects in my backlog) so you guys are just gonna have to sit tight.
