Hello Again Post this years big update how is everyone getting along with the game? Curious on everyone's crash rate and where/how? Mine seem to be going between free cam and front cam on all routes, apart from this stable. All comments welcome
Not crashed once until I got Dresden, now this particular route crashes all the time! I have found a slow approach to the end of Dresden helps!
Another one that mostly gets crashes with the DB BR 101 installed. This crashes Riesa Dresden every time I try and run a timetable. Aside from that I had 1 crash in South Eastern Highspeed and 1 in Cathcart Circle. Both right before the last station.
Very interesting Tiger. I get mine on approach to paddington but only say if I have left myself in free cam at old oak common then try and jump back to front cam. Do you use an inside or outside cam on approach to stations?
Thank you Paul, I wonder if the new sony system update of 9.00 has impacted tsw2. To my memory it came after the tsw2 big update... i had to do a full reinstall of game post 9.00 to get it stable again
Prior to Dresden, I had the odd crash mainly when using the scenario planner, for example I found Huddersfield on NTP to be one such place. Post Dresden, (when finally I got to play, albeit 101 uninstalled to do so...cough cough DTG), I found that apart from the approach to Dresden which as paulc says requires a slowly slowly catchy monkey approach, it's been crash free. Ironically, I'm currently in a perpetual train ride on the HRR intro as I can't exit the camera in immersion controls as it wants me to press triangle and I can't!!
Thank you gilly, the crash at huddersfield was it using lots of different trains in SP? (But within the 20 limit) & did you find the crashes were at a particular camera angle? (For example inside or outside cab)
I'd say 10 max, most of it for mobile scenery to pass, so opposite direction next station to station if that makes sense. Always in cab. I'm running a livery editor D200 clone so suspect that has a lot to do with it.
Way back before before TSW 2 was a thing, my game crashed when I was operating the HST approaching London Paddington. Now when Riesa - Dresden came out, I did a morning ICE service towards Dresden Hbf and it crashed on me while on a slow approach. Edit: Grammar
Cheers Lunar, I do wonder if the ps4 is in its final year with tsw2. All my other games are stable but it is starting to feel with the rush hour tech that the ps4 might be struggling to keep pace with the unreal upgrades in terms of performance. Do you think we will part of the next upgrade path or just next gen?
Rebuild your PS4 database. and uninstall any not used PS4 games to free up space. Apparently doing this fixes most crashing and lag issues. So I’m told.
That has nothing to do with the hardware. TSW2 is just a train on rails. This game shouldn't be so demanding for a PS4. The visuals are good but not exceptionally. There is even no HDR.
Yes I'm currently at 250gb of 500 since last night so will watch performance from here. Bit like a PC never a good idea to have the last bit of hard drive space full, thanks for the comment
Thanks Antwerp, so do you think DTG will let the ps4 through 1 more major update like this year? I'm currently thinking no, but I could be wrong
Interesting moofeen, so you think the ps4 is in its final 11 months of dlc, then it will be a legacy item, bit like tsw2020?
You mean TSW3? Don't think so. The hardware probably would be able to run it but the cost of supporting a platform with a swindling userbase doesn't seem a smart move to me But an update like Rush Hour? Why not?
I wouldn't be surprise if the next couple of routes (likely Germany), layers could be missing on last gen like HMA while current gen gets all the layers. However, I am waiting patiently for the PS5 be available. I might as well go play HMA because I haven't touch it since last year because I was waiting for the layers to come. I am disappointed that I won't be getting the full experience out of the route without those layers. I know Matt said few weeks ago on a livestream that his team were still testing the layers for last gen. But if we can't have all the layers activated like the current gen, then we could end up with multiple timetables as a solution. As for the PS5 situation, I extremely hate scalpers because they got nothing better to do then going around buying or stealing 100's of consoles and reselling them.
Agreed on the scalping. It will be interesting to see if the ps4 is still supported on tsw2 post july next year...
Just read there is Missing layers for several units 166, 43, 66 on new london route for ps4, might be time to take the old ps4 out back and put it out of its misery
According to a fairly recent live stream Matt in response to a question from someone asking if PS4 will continue to be supported said yes definitely because PS4 is still a very important platform to them. Reading between the lines PS4 will be supported for quite a while yet probably for another two years or so but will eventually be dropped when PS5 becomes more affordable and available.
I hope you are correct. I guess it will be a choice of what layers to give up over time vs next gen on new dlc such as London commuter
