Intro Hello Dovetail, THE SIEMENS NEXAS IS BACK WITH ANOTHER ROUTE SUGGESTION!! This route this time I wanna see is Amtrak's Keystone Corridor. Why do I wanna see the Keystone Corridor? I wanna see it because it's got a beautiful country side and they should add a new Amtrak route to the game. Other than that, lets get right into this!! Route information Amtrak's Keystone Corridor runs from Philadelphia to Harrisburg. This route switches of The Northeast Corridor in Philadelphia. The trains that run on this route are ACS-64s, Amfleet Cab Cars and P42DCs (if broken down then Dash 8s). Route length: 104 miles Loco information ACS-64 Owned: 71 Numbered: 600-670 Built: 2012-2016 Manufacturer: Siemens Mobility Entered Service: 2014 Amfleet Cab Car Owned: Budd Company Built: 1981 Entered Service: 1981 Why should they add this route? They should add this route because in TSW there are two different sections of the Northeast Corridor and they should add another section of it, which is this as you already know, and another reason is that they need to add more Amtrak to TSW. DLC that should be added at some point Amtrak P42DC (Maybe) Amtrak Dash 8s. Conclusion Thank you guys so much for listening to why this route should be added. I hope you enjoyed. Feel free to reply "YESS I AGREE!!" Other than that, it's got a beautiful scenery, so that's the main reason. Once again, hope you enjoyed looking at this suggestion and I'll see you later.
Wow, 349 miles, like that will ever happen in TSW2, hell that has never been done in TS1 either. Not to mention part of your proposed route is part of Norfolk Southerns Horseshoe curve route thst is being made by Skyhook Games, but with only NS. The most realistic scenario for this would be for DTG to include part of the NEC from New York City to Trenton NJ, a length of about 58 miles. Dtg could stretch it to Philadelphia, like the original NEC route for TS1, but that's about 91 miles of trackage. The other option is the Philadelphia to Harrisburg line, which is about 104 track miles.
Philadelphia Harrisburg 104 miles ACS-64 600-670 reskinned into SEPTA ACS-64 901-915 Comet II-IV 2500s SEPTA Philadelphia 30th Street to Thorndale Silverliner V. Final Destination for those ACS-64 and Silverliner Vs R5 Doylestown Lansdale. If DTG OR Skyhook Games have SEPTA license
If they do this route they should include the Strasburg Railroad as a branch line. It’s only 9 Miles, but when steam comes in to the game could add lots of possibilities. Norfolk and Western J Class 611, Norfolk And Western M Class 475 Great Western 2-10-0 90. I could probably spend hours running steam up and down the Strasburg. Could even have some freight switching with their trans load facility.
As much as I would like to see the Strasburg RR (as I was out in Ronks this weekend and saw N&W 611 running--what an incredibly beautiful machine!) included, that "only" 9 miles of trackage would include a LOT of work and new custom assets for the countryside it travels through including, for example, Cherry Crest farm.
If we start in Philidelphia, NS has the Conway Yards. Conway could be perfect for handling switching duties with an NS GP60 and we could get an NS SD70ACu, SD70M-2, ES40DC, ET44AC, or SD80MAC for heavy freight services.
