Is TSW2 tested with Windows 11? Do we have to hold off on upgrading to 11 if we use our PC for TSW2?

I have Windows 11 build 22000.194 (insider preview) and TSW runs without problems for me.

I’ve been running windows 11 for a couple of months now and have not experienced any issues with running TSW. My rail driver and Track IR both work just fine as well.

I ran Microsoft's "Can your computer run Windows 11" tool, according to which my processor is inadequate -- darned if I'm going to spend money on a new processor & whatever else that might lead to just to acquire a Windows interface that doesn't appeal to me and, probably, other "features" that I neither want nor need.

Just done the "Health Check" on my PC and it rolled about on the floor with hysterical laughter. Guess I'll be staying in the Renaissance Age for now!

Well for right now have to hold with Windows 10, my year old computer does not have TPM 2.0 enabled and when I talked with tech support at the builder, he said that the ROM BIOS on my mother board does not have it so would need to update and flash the BIOS. Think I will wait on this. The last time I did BIOS flash I fried the thing.

Haven't checked my rig yet but I doubt it'll make the cut.
What with upgrades requiring a second mortgage I feel like I'm being outpaced by technology and inflation.

I think for the most part we are being outpaced by technology and inflation.

I just forked out on a new graphics card, 3060, A new CPU and MOBO will have to wait even though my PC is well capable of running Win 11, i7 7700k. Passed everything except CPU despite it being released the same year as 8th gen.

I wonder if Microsoft gets more bad press they will give more concessions or stick to being stubborn.

Something something stagnating wages... ah I'll take it somewhere else. ;)
You can cut your way around this restriction if you desire. Read the section of this article titled "How to Use Installation Media to Force an Upgrade":

I assume MS stand to gain more from selling OEM installs of Win 11 on new PC’s as opposed to giving people a free or low cost upgrade. I may very well look at replacing my box next year but not while the price of certain elements, in particular GPU,s, are so exorbitant.

The requirements for Windows 11 are for security reasons. I doubt there is a conspiracy for selling to OEMs, as they offered Windows 10 upgrades for free for pretty much every version of Windows (since 95?).

That said, Microsoft makes most of its money from selling Windows from OEMs, not individual customers. Those USB sticks they sell online with Windows on it are a tiny minority of Windows sales. In fact, because of this Microsoft doesn't bother to put true anti-piracy measures in Windows anymore - it's just not worth their time.

I had one issue with a saved journey. After updating to win11 when ever I tried to resume the saved journey UE4 crashed. The resolution was to save another journey in its place.

Was running the Windows 11 preview build for 2 months then upgraded Tuesday to the Full version of Windows 11 not had any issues personally other than 1/2 UE crashes but i can't put that down to windows 11 as this could be a game issue not Win 11 issue,

Right click on Train Sin World 2, then got to properties go to local files. The select verify integrity of game files.and that will pick up anything you're missing.

I suspect they make most of their money from Azure and Office M365 :)

I meant most of their sales of Windows come from OEMs, but yes Azure and Office likely make up a large chunk of their sales, and probably Xbox as well. I change in the way computer companies make money - and one of the reasons computers have become less expensive generally - is that service sales are more profitable than hardware sales. It's why consoles are at such low prices compared to many PCs, and why Apple has been supporting their phones for much longer than they usually would - look at the iPhone SE (1) and 6S still being supported.

there was a reported issue with Intel 12th gen CPU's and windows 11. TSW2 was listed on Intels website as causing DRM issues. Last I checked Intel said they had fixed it through a Win11 update

The adoption rate for Windows 11 is higher than it was for Windows 10 and back then there were no requirements like now.
I too upgraded recently and so far I´m liking it overall. In the context of the current level of threats of all types, the increased security requirements make total sense.

We all know that Spectre and Meltdown vulnerabilities will never be completely fixed as they are hardware related but any step towards a safer environment should be made by both users and manufacturers.

I've been running TS and TSW2 on Win11 for 4 months. The only issue I've had is Windows over writing AMD graphics drivers.

Is anyone having Bluetooth trouble? I have a bluetooth v5.0 speaker I used with win 10 all the time but ever since I upgraded to win 11 it refuses to connect.

I have not upgraded to Windows 11 as I am low on SSD space. Have unticked a few routes so I can add more.

Does W11 take up more space?

Not that I can remember….. in fact I’m sure I ended up with slightly more free space after I installed it.
