Only 7 meters before actual stopping point, and you will not get the task complete. Absolutely ridiculous.
Yes. It had to be done because for then unknown reasons AI trains would stop too early and thus break parts of the timetable. This way Ai is forced to stop pinpoint, and sadly, the player as well. They will find a fix for this but for Meißen release there was none yet.
It is like in the real world. 7 meters is often nearly half of a wagon. That is bad when it is not where it should be. You have to stop at the stopping point, with a 1m accuracy with a S-Bahn trains. And not only S-Bahn but nearly all passenger trains have to stop where supposed to stop and not 7m away.
As long as all doors are at the platform and you don't block the section behind you it's all good, 1 meter accuracy with a train is highly unlikely
Frustrates me too. Especially on freight services when you have all the train in the siding (other routes).
You stand on any Uk platform which hasnt been freshly painted and you can see exactly where the train doors will be when the train stops because the white platform edge paint is worn compared to the rest of the platform becuase trains really do stop with 1 meter accuracy with the occassional exception in weather conditions which cause rails to be slippy and the driver judging it wrong. Dont believe me take a look next time you are on a platform. Some underground lines such as the jubilee extension also have platform doors which line up with the train doors for extra safety, if trains didnt stop with accuracy there no one would get on or off.
being 6 meters off isn't going to shut down the system, all that matters is having all doors at platform, sometimes sudden bad weather can catch you and you're a bit further, or i've had student drivers stopping a bit short, but as long all doors were at platform it's all good
If a driver cant stop accurately at a station and goes beyond where they are meant to stop then they have no business being a train driver regardless of the train or weather, IRL failing to stop can result in a SPAD or worst still a collision with a stationary service in the platform
I'm talking a few meters... Students sometimes stop at the 4 marker when having 3 cars.. Big deal.. You can sleep easy, 10 years driving no spads here.. And yes sudden rain can catch you.. How many miles have you driven irl?
