Past community managers have talked about redesigning the forums to be more intuitive and I have some suggestions for the possible layout of it. First of all, having loads of Off Topic forums for each game is not efficient, and therefore they should be combined into one large subforum, alongside the subforums for each game. On the Hobbies section, you'd have options for Fishing, TS, TSW, and the new off-topic section. They could also give it an interesting name, like GTPlanet's Rumble Strip. Maybe it could be called The Platform or The Station. The Introduce Yourself section of the TS subforum could moved into this new area as well, as I reckon that subforum is from the days of Engine Driver and when DTG only made Train Simulator. It might also be useful to have a support section there. The Fishing subforum is a weird one, as there is no distinction between the four different games. They should all be separated to make them easier to identify and keep things on topic. For TSW2 there should be the ability to have threads in the main game section itself for each game, as currently the 'TSW General' area seems to be the PC Discussion subforum. Alternatively there should be a General Discussion subforum like for TS and the fishing games. In the end, it should look something like this: Dovetail Fishing Announcements Dovetail Live Article Discussion General Discussion (Fishing Series) Bassmaster 2022 (repeated for all four fishing games) General Discussion PC PlayStation Xbox Technical Reports Suggestions Creation Centre(RailWorks) Train Simulator Announcements Dovetail Live Article Discussion General Discussion Technical Reports Suggestions Creation CentreTrain Sim World General Discussion PC PlayStation Xbox Technical Reports Suggestions Creation CentreThe Platform (this can include anything off-topic that you can think of; the main ones are the Introduce Yourself and Site Support sections) Introduce Yourself General Off-Topic Sport Railways Fishing Technology Art Entertainment Site Support (Items in bold serve as folders and cannot have threads created in them)
I think General Discussion for all platforms is a Must Have on the TSW forums. Too often people either post in Off Topic or post content on the Platform they play on that could be related to any platform on TSW
Agreed 99%, although if you take general discussion out of the specific platforms (which does cut down on duplication) then you're pretty much left with the remaining duplication of the Technical Reports, and some discussion about platform-specific performance.
