I’ve noticed on the Class 387, the pantograph doesn’t go all the way with higher overhead wires like in Boston Sprinter
I don’t know the answer for certain but would surmise that it is because the 387 is not designed to run on the NEC. The pantographs on the trains on this route probably go higher. The pantograph on the 387 is probably true to life. Have you tried it on a UK route such as SEHS?
The pantograph on the ACS-64 is a lot longer the on the 387 meaning it can extend higher. Overhead wires in the UK never go as high as one ones the NEC unless you're passing through a level crossing.
1. Press and hold AC system select 2. Then press and hold Pantograph up Make sure you're on a route with overhead wires because it won't work without them
Pantograph works fine on GWE route. But I don't have the Boston route, I will say though their loading gauge is higher than ours, so yes it may not reach that high anyway? here's how to set up UK lines. I didn't set up the DSD or Vigilance due to not hearing it on a previous run.
