Hi all, I thought this might be a bit of a fun thread to start. What is everyone's favorite station station Mine is Huddersfield on Northern Transpennine
All the stations on Cathcart are very good I think. I've always thought that Brighton was pretty well done and I'm satisfied with how East Croydon and Victoria look on BML. I think my personal favourite has to be Paddington though. I'm very biased as it's one of my all time favourite stations IRL, and out of all the stations currently in TSW2 it's by far the one I use most often in the real world, but I love it. It's a magnificent station and they've captured that well. It's not a perfect recreation but it still fills me with that same sense of wonder, which is enough.
I would say Manchester Victoria (mostly out of personal bias) as it is wonderfully dingy and grim, except it's a little devoid of life most of the time which though understandable is a little disappointing.
Agreed, I never got to see it in the 80s, loved the faded wonder I did get to see tho, and was looking forward to seeing it in its full service glory. Shame it feels like a ghost site in TSW.
I've got to agree, again personal bias but proud of it! It's just a shame it's missing the Lancashire and Yorkshire mosaic.
And the ticket barriers, and the subway, and the Bury electric trains shuttling to and fro. But yes, it's still got the flavour of Victoria, especially if there's a class 40 whistling away somewhere. Just needs a class 25 now.
My favorite is Shangai Rail Station oh! wait!! it is not in train simulator world 2!! that is why we need chinese route for very good stations.
My favourite is HONGQ I AO RAILWAY STATION quite simply because it’s not in TSW2. Only joking! I quite like Minehead station on WSR. It’s also got a turntable.
Hmm good question. Glasgow Central I think at the moment for me but there are a couple running it close
I'm saying Glasgow Central without a doubt. It's very well modelled and detailed (at least on the used platforms), and is an excellent representation. It also is my local line's main terminus so i'm kinda biased. When (hopefully) a few more Scottish Routes enter the game we'll begin to see a bit of layering brought into play, and we'll end up with a busy Glasgow Central. (All I'm saying is, you can hardly beat Glasgow Central when it's full with 380s, 320s, 318s, (formerly) 314s, 385s, 156s, and a few InterCity services now and then. It's really a railfan's dream.
For some reason my favorite station is Raventhorpe. It really looks like you are not meant to stop there and that probably since 10 years already.
My favorite stations in TSW 2 are: Dresden Hbf, Dresden Neustadt, Köln Hbf, Brighton, East Croydon, London Victoria, Duisburg Hbf, München Hbf, Hamburg Hbf and Glasgow Central.
St Erth. Really captures the small Cornish village experience well. Victoria and St Pancras in a close second and third.
NY Penn Station underground major station if you are looking for an elevated Central station next to the Rhine River then Köln Hbf. Looking for a central station 102 years newer than NY Penn Station 1910 2012 Wien Hbf. That's why we need ÖBB routes here so that we have access to Wien Hbf including Motorail docks
I’m sure 3/4 of driverwoods#1787 ‘s comments on the forums are about Austrian / German routes and their safety systems
Dresden Hbf has got to be up there on the new Chemnitz route, as well as London Victoria. Just because of the masses of trains going in and out the stations. Just look at this: So many trains! I also like the concept of Dresden Hbf with the low and the high platforms. Also, I find Leipzig Bayerischer Bahnhof on Rapid Transit quite cool, I like the modern style with the (in reality) moving blue lights when a train arrives, and the other art designs in the station. I am a big fan of underground stations I don't have a good screenshot though, sorry Sam, only this weird one here:
My favorite stations are from the newer German releases - Dresden-Plauen and Meißen Altstadt. Meißen Altstadt looks like it barely fits between the car park and the hill and Dresden-Plauen looks old, dirty, and weathered, with interesting scenery looking towards Freital and also not much space between the track and the adjacent buildings.
Probably my favourite station in real Life that is in the game is Glasgow Central. My favourite in game station at the moment is Lelant Saltings on the St Ives branch. I love the way that there are always loads of people on the platform but no trains ever stop there.
Ah okay, thanks for clarifying! That explains my initial confusion in regards to the original Dresden RH route! Just to add my own thoughts on favourite stations in TSW 2, I think DTG done a stellar job with East Croydon as compared with my real pic below.
