Just so you know that the Scenario planner and Livery editor are working now in DirectX12 version of the game perfectly and modded liveries can be used with no problem in game too. :)

Really? That's pretty cool to hear. Might give Dx12 a go then, as I've heard it improves overall performance?

No not on all systems. Give it a try though to see how it performs on your system but on my own system it gave no improvements at all.

Same here, infact, I get a worse performance.

    I9-9900K OC'd to 4.7
    OC'd Nvidia 1080TI
    32GB RAM
    SSD

Broadly speaking DX12 moves work from the CPU to the GPU, so if you have an old CPU and a high-end graphics card you should see an improvement, if you have a high-end CPU and an older graphics card (like Scorpion) it may be worse.

Hmmm. I'll test it; my GPU is in the middling range (GTX1060, only 3GB VRAM)

Is it still " -dx12" to enable it?

My PC is 11 years old but has a new RTX3060 with 12GB of RAM so I'm hoping this will help more than with directx 11

It might be worse for you with so little VRAM. DX12 is much more RAM and VRAM hungry than DX11 so you might run out of VRAM and crash or your VRAM will page to your disk drive and you'll get bad stuttering. Still, give it a shot and see how it works.

OT, if this is really true (and I'll give it a go), then that's fantastic! There are so many community-made liveries than I have wanted to use but unfortunately couldn't because they would crash my game. Let's see if it will now work?

    Cheers

I can confirm that DX 12 is now running with custom liveries from the livery editor (Geforce FTX 1050 TI and i5 -3470).

I can also confirm after trying several downloaded reskins that they now work under DX12. Excellent!

Great to see DX12 working with the livery editor now....but for me, DX12 didn't provide any performance increase (in fact I think it may have been worse)...so YMMV

    For reference i7-6700k / GTX1080 / 16GB

    My system is a 5600X / 32GB DDR4-3600 / RTX 3070. Let's see how she plays...

Update - seems to be a bit smoother. I play at 1080p max due to my monitor. I seem to have noticed a little less micro-stutters. And obviously the custom repaints are working nicely. All I have in my setup are custom Class 66 units, I think I might give a few others a try (like the Europa ICE repaint).
