Any way of lowering, or even better: silencing, the volume of the intro videos played at startup? I know that you can skip them by just clicking, but I really don't need it blasting att max volume, especially since there's no ramp up to it. It's just BAM! Really loud...
No seriously I do agree it is quite annoying, but I don't think there is any way turning it down, apart from being quick on the mute button in windows or on your speakers.
Having said that, they are saved locally, so perhaps you could put them in a video editor and turn the volume down that way? (I haven't tried this though)
Tried with a video that is 0.1s. Sound plays, but skips pretty quickly since the video ends. Still blasting at max volume
I miss the days when it was just the old circling DTG logo... The current system is slow and a bit pointless - has anybody ever watched the intro video in full?
in the file GameUserSetting.ini you find some audio lines like MasterSoundVolume=1.5000 SFXSoundVolume=1.5000 AmbienceSoundVolume=1.0000 DialogueSoundVolume=1.5000 ExternalAlertVolume=1.5000 MusicSoundVolume=1.000000 MenuSFXVolume=1.0000 the music one is not there i think see if adding and lowering its value helps so something like MusicSoundVolume=0.500000
Frankly I think Dovetail’s marketing division hates us. They either try to induce epileptic fits or tinnitus in their players…
I wonder is there any "magic word" you can enter in the launch options that would disable to movies? Though I don't think it would be too much to ask to have a "disable intro movies" in the options menu like a lot of other games.
yep deleting those fixes the problem, probably be put back at first update, but only takes 2 seconds to delete again
It would be nice- but there is a way. Find the TSW folders, find the folder "movies," and delete the two files inside, as said above. Now, set the folder properties to "read only"- that will prevent updates from re-installing them.
first thing i did when i got TSW2 was delete the content in the "Movies" folder : C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Train Sim World 2\WindowsNoEditor\TS2Prototype\Content\Movies as that's what play when it's loading... and makes the loading time way longer than it really is as a result. Then i set the menu volume low in the sounds settings menu, When i start TSW2, i get the main splash screen of the 3 trains (similar to the background of this forum) for about 3 seconds, then the 'click to continue' thing pops up (with the mouse moving to the top left corner...grrrr) after clicking to continue, i get the 'please don't use our game to learn how to steal a train and go joyriding' lawyer speak type warning to click past, and it's into the main menu ... about 5 seconds after double clicking the icon on the desktop to start TSW2.
Not sure how to turn it down but I’ve often wondered if it’ll possible to swap it out with the Marvel Studios ditty
Oh, one addendum: if you do a Steam "verify files," it will report "2 files missing." That's the movie files, so ignore it.
They do not have a reason to be re-downloaded with any of the updates, unless the movies themselves are updated. But they are of course re-downloaded upon checking the integrity of the files, which is not a bad idea to do from time to time, even though now it seems that Steam does auto-verification upon every finished update, something that seems to be pretty new feature I noticed.
