With the RSN preserved collection update, will we be able to edit the 155 in the livery editor?

Or possibly a lack of signalling knowledge. Matt has said that is the biggest issue doing new countries. They have to learn exactly how the signals and safety systems by scratch and then be able to accurately depict that into the game. So that does take time.

Yeah I guess the BR612 is interesting because it’s dieselhydraulic (not dieselelectric!) and it tilts, but the route seems very a-to-b without any interesting branches or freight locations except maybe the Brand-Erbisdorf branch line.

so DTG, a very nice announcement!
But it’s in production since only a few time, so it’s the perfect timing to get the DR-Dostos! It‘s not to late this time, and that would make up the Hamburg-Dosto story for me ;D

Oh no, looking at the dosto debate starting I'm seeing a new "wrong dosto" situation :D But yeah, older generation would be very welcome considering you have to set the route couple years for 612s to be possible.

As for the 612 itself - a very nice choice and a good one to test tilting mechanics on and you don't have to account for pantograph countermove here. Baby steps. :D
    [IMG]
I remember Matt confirming to me in a pre-release stream for TSW2 that the game can handle tilting, so it should definitely be a feature. And 612s were properly loud inside even for passengers, so sounds need a proper care as well.

I'm honestly not even worried so much about the tilting, that will be fine, but the GNT system (the safety system behind it), THAT will be interesting to see how well it will work :)

Are we going to get another batch of routes in planning, like last year? Roadmap seems to lack its main purpose if we're not getting much in the way of advanced notice ahead of DLC.

Than I Hope they include GNT too, but how could you See the upcoming Speed Limits without ebula, If you Drive without hud?

The main purpose of the roadmap is to share insight on development stages across the board. Anything in the “in production” section has plenty of advance notice as it is.

Considering route mergers aren't being considered (to our knowledge) we sure have ended up with a fair few routes that share an endpoint. Is this now the third pair of routes to do so?

Certainly good for AI traffic on each of the routes but it does make me curious if route linking is something DTG might be experimenting with behind the scenes.

I know of course DTG won't be able to say anything on that after all 'if it's not on the roadmap...' but I must say there is a bit of a pattern emerging here.

However, I partially suspect the reason for the shared endpoint of routes is a result of pandemic related restrictions of on-location research. The endpoints of routes are usually some of the most complicated parts so repeating them saves a lot of development time.

I have no expectations for route linking as of yet, but it is nonetheless interesting how we have gotten yet another potential candidate for it in the future.

I think they do it to to better justify the time and research that goes into recreating the big stations.

Absolutely, I certainly cannot fault them for using their assets efficiently and getting extra use out of them when they can

Lighting on the Dresden Chemnitz will be interesting - will they use the new lighting model throughout considering Dresden is already built with it or just Dresden with the upgraded lighting and the rest with lesser lighting or go with a lower standard throughout and rebuild Dresden

Surely , I hope and wish, that the only reason they have chosen the next germane route to be in real life connected to the last one to be released, shows that either,
    a. They are planning to attempt a route merger, and have put some tech in to Risa Dresden and will attempt to merge
    or
    b. They are just trying to reuse a huge asset to save on time and money.
    I hope A.

Tharandter Rampe is the former DDR Deutsche Reichsbahn equivalent to the West German Deutsche Bundesbahn Main Spessart Bahn due to its steep section. That line forms this route Hof West Germany Gutenfurst Border Station Werdau Chemnitz Dresden East Germany.
The thing with Tharandter Rampe it was electrified by the DDR from 1963-1966. Looks like we're getting more DDR Electrified route since all the German electrified routes are in West Germany BRD. 1954-1957 Main Spessart Bahn 1966 SKA/HMA 1973-1988 RSN RRO HRR 2008 Hamburg Lubeck post reunification. Class 313/2 should serve as base for a future route that requires 313/1

Im not feeling the new route tbh the more I research the less appealing it becomes a twice hourly service west of Frieburg (1 express and 1 stopper) with an extra hourly train between Tharnet and Dresden with peak services extended to Frieburg. With limited freight on the line in recent years it seems rather quiet. Even if they were to include the 17km branch to Roßwein it doesnt give a lot of variety IMO

I believe this timetable wouldn't be accurate for the route because nowadays there's a different operator with different rolling stock

    It's almost certainly B

I can't remember who DTG outsources a lot of the route building for dresden to but chances are this is just the natural next step as the people and a lot of the assets are already in place

I personally cannot see route mergers being thought about until we see a version of TSW running on Unreal Engine 5 and without PS4/Xbox one versions of the game. Reason being we will need SSD's as standard to be able to unload/load data fast enough for the switch between two DLC's to be seamless (mechanical HDD just woundnt be able to hit the speeds needed)

While I would have preferred a true vintage route, I‘m glad that the next German route will at least offer something new with a DMU and tilting. Let‘s hope that this is a good sign for the future of German routes at large.

Who knows, maybe the next one in the pipeline will be a fully Diesel, single track route such as Kiel - Lübeck from TS for example :)

Would suggest Basel- Schaffhausen on the german side! Pure Diesel and from December 2021 on with Dosto and sometimes even Br218 :D Let’s just say me and my camera are really looking forward to the next timetable change in December ;D

Another modern German route. Why are all German routes in the history of TSW modern and yet the British routes are set all over the shop? Would be nice to get a bit of variety.

Finally, finally a German route that I'm looking forward too! With it's winding curves, steep gradients (up to 2,67% !) and nice scenery in the narrow valley this is just the type of route I was waiting for, with a relaxing and yet very interesting experience. It's going to be quite a refreshing experience after all the plain flat routes we've been seeing lately.
The 612 is going to offer lots of unique fun on a line like this with its tilting technology and the 143, while reused for the second time, is a favourite of mine so I can't complain. It's just the dostos which are a real pain to see once again.
I'm really looking forward to what you can do with this route.

But, even though this is definitely a breath of fresh air, it's still a modern electrified passenger line. There is still so much we are missing for German/European routes, that I'd love to see in the future, like:
    - a diesel line (with locos, not just DMUs)
    - a historic line
    - single track action
    - branch line
    - more attention to freight (with local operations)

I hope we get some as soon as possible. At this point, there are quite a few routes waiting to be improved with loco dlcs and all DTG does is pump out new routes. I can't possibly play so many routes so I definitely prefer enhancing the ones I already have with new locos.

personally I do like the Routes more, because often the new trains from these routes substitute to others, and I also get a new route. But nevertheless, I also would love to see new loco Dlcs in the next few roadmaps :D
