the physics of the class 313 are copy and pasted from the 314 however in real life it’s completely different, there’s key missing sounds which ruin the immersion completely such as the brake squeal when departing said station and finally, the door chimes are completely wrong, i have attached a few files showing these issues (excuse the low quality discord files) DOOR CHIME: https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/373056348453339136/901199833103220766/video0.mov BRAKE SQUEAL WHEN DEPARTING: https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/373056348453339136/901198768756621393/video0.mov NOTCH 4 DEPARTURE PHYSICS: https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/373056348453339136/901188711503523880/video0.mov (these are literally a copy and paste from the 314s physics and doesn’t display any signs (or sounds of that matter) of being camshaft run) as you can see there is lots of inaccuracies with this pack, utterly disappointed since this dlc has been in production for a fair bit of time. 7/10 from me, sounds & physics score a 3 and modelling scores a 4.
Ok but I fail to see what's wrong with the model and you say there are lots of inaccuracies but listing 3 is completely immersion-breaking.
So you’d give the model a 4/10 because it's too fat? Not even a 5 or a 6? If the only problem is that's it's fat then that means everything else is pretty good which doesn't warrant you giving it an overall bad score, I'd give it at least a 7/10.
All things listed are far for ruin immersion. Those are a few details. I get that we want the most accurate reproduction but we should be fine with a few things not being perfect.
I’m just watching the stream now and Sam’s comment about “audio police” being out is definitely happening a lot more. That said he was on point about the telephone cables I couldn’t unsee it
Today i randomly watched a cabride of a 313. My thoughts were the sounds are matching to what i heard in the stream. In the end immersion is top and thats what matters to me. Right now to me it seems people take out their microscope. The time to screw up a sound is not much less to the time to get them right. But the time to make them from good to perfect is wasted and could spent elsewhere. Pareto in a different way , just my opinion
I would actually say the physics are pretty accurate, I like the way the power has a few seconds delay between increasing the notch as the resistors pass through series into parallel and weak field. The model looks fantastic, interior is great (although the corridor connections/gangways between vehicles were a bit bright yellow and could do with some light weathering). The exterior livery looks stunning (a little bit of a shame the BR Blue/Grey livery wasn't included as seeing that would be quite fun). The sounds are nice and are accurate (except the motor sound cut out at 50mph, presumably a bug). The dynamic brakes seem a little problematic; the motor whine sound of the camshaft seems to cut out too long after stopping (as if the motors were still running whilst stationary) but sounded fine when dynamic brakes were turned off. Overall a really nice EMU and hopefully on par with the fabulous Class 465.
The actual description is that the 313 sounds are a variation of the 314, with some new parts and some that have been copied over. This is discussed at 23:20 in yesterday's stream. The camshaft is discussed at 27:35 in yesterdays stream where the 313 physics are described as "quite different physics to the ones that have gone before" in relation to it being camshaft run.
Reviewing a model based on a prerelease stream where it was stated its not the finished article. How you can decide the phsyics are wrong without actually driving the thing is beyond me.
Well, most of the time they are just empty words and what we see is exactly what we get. They stated many times that something is still WIP, but the times something changed between the stream and the release can be counted on the fingers of the hand of a careless carpenter...
So a telephone cable should take priority over the sounds? I think Sam is being a little daft. For some, especially those who have ridden on the train or have knowledge of it the sound of it is key. IMO this is what holds TSW2 back from being a great train sim, too many lack lustre sounds and then too quiet also. Yes some of the sounds are good, class 166 and 465 come to mind but just imagine if all the sounds had top quality sound, it would be awesome, especially the underground and with the wheel sparks added.
