Hi all, after some assistance. I recently purchased 2022 edition on a key website to get the routes. But when I try to add it to the library it says I already own this game and I should check my library. I own the main game since 2017 edition and it has been updated to 2022 but obviously that's just the core game and none of the routes. I've have tried multiple times, on the PC, on my mobile and I get the same message every time. Has anyone else had this issue? TIA
If you already owned any of the previous versions of TS, there was no need to buy TS2022. The only things you will get will be routes that you don't already own. If you already own all the routes that came with TS2022 you will receive nothing new. If that's the case, your best option is to try for a refund. However, if it's been purchased through a third party key reseller, by which I mean not Steam or DTG, then you may struggle to get a refund.
As I've mentioned, I don't have the routes and that's why I purchased 2022 to get them. Yet when I try to add them to my library it states that I already own the game. Usually you'd get the option saying that you won't get another copy of the game but can still install the routes, which I have done with previous versions. But for some reason this one isn't working.
Then it appears that you may have been given an incorrect key or sold a key that isn't what it's supposed to be.
Yeah that's what I'm thinking, I was just curious whether anyone else had had this issue with 2022, but clearly it's just me must be a dodgy key then.
This is sadly incredibly common with key resellers. The fact that the yearly editions of TS are nothing more than repacked bundles means that such bundles often contain the wrong content. Resellers very rarely bother to check. They see the steam ID pop up as "Train Simulator" and call it good. Honestly? Avoid third-party resellers. Humble runs TS sales very often. I got TS2021 and 2020 for something like 1 euro apiece.
