The MiTrac train management system (TMS) on the Electrostars can be annoying when scrolling through trying to find your destination. A proper simulation of this would be to allow your headcode to be entered and the route to be set accordingly. This has been achieved in AP scenarios, I'm sure it's possible in TSW 2.
Would like to see that and: Dim/turn off when train is in motion (does something like this in night mode according to DadRail) Issue a voice announcement of the stations the train is calling at and formation details Boot up sequence from cold start (apparently these things run on Windows 95)
MITRAC operates off a PIS Code of 4 digits to get the announcements and destination displays to work. MITRAC also controls various can and on train settings. the boot up only happen when the units are auxed on from cold not whenever you activate the cab. It’s Windows NT these days I think and you won’t get that boot screen because there will be a copyright issue probably! you can put MITRAC into a dark screen mode though and that will then show how many carriages you have. The formation reminder you see in the game is not actually there in the real cab.
While it would be awesome to have this functionality on the Electrostars, how about we let DTG bug squash for a bit before more new features come along?
