    Hi all.

It seems that since one of the updates, I can no longer switch to an exterior view using R3 in most of the newer routes. This is extremely annoying!
I just spent 20 quid on the Switzerland mountainous electric Route and am so cheesed off that I'm stuck with just the cab view on another absolutely beautiful route.

As I say, it seems like all the newer maps have this issue.... Or am I missing something?

    Thanks ♥️

Sometimes i need to press (R3) more then once to change to external view but this option is still there for all routes...

If you hold down R3 it becomes the camera shift function but pressing it briefly should take you to an external camera, which can be set as either the new head-out camera, the standard exterior view or free camera in the settings menu. This is all assuming you are using the immersion controller setup of course.

You have to hold the square button to activate the shift function

That’s function shift, camera shift is holding down the right stick.

Is there a list somewhere online of all the "alternate" controls that are activated by pushing or holding various buttons? I keep hearing about various ones from random sources.

It's sort of listed under one of the tabs on the screen you get after pressing options. Controller something or something controller. Not really that clear but there is something there.

    If you have keyboard:-
    1. cab view
    2. 2 x external views
    3. 2x external views
    8. trackside view

    Thanks for the replies!

So, neither clicking R3 nor holding R3 do anything. This route and other new ones force me to immersion view and the setting is locked ie I cannot revert to classic.

What I HAVE discovered yesterday is, if at the main menu I enter settings and set my default to immersion mode, load my map, then go back in to settings once I'm in the route, I can NOW go back to Classic mode and get my external view that way!

Bit of a bug I guess - happily I prefer classic mode anyway ♥️

It sounds like a bug then.

In Immersion Controls, if you hold down R3 and then hit right or left on the d-pad you'll cycle through the external cameras.

Sorry if this hijacks the thread, is there a controller button combination in order to get a free camera using immersion controls?

Because i stumbled over this a while ago i have investigated this and the answer is simple. If those blocking walls are to near to the track, what happens here and there, the head-out camera will not activate.

R3 to get to outside camera, then hold R3 in and press right on the D pad twice. I think it is twice, I think the first press takes you to the rear camera then the second takes you to the free roam camera.
