Clearly Rivet have been playing a joke on us. They have been making us believe we’d get a realistic 150/2 but of course not - what they’ve actually produced is the April Fools version - the nitrous accelerating model. 0-10mph in just 4 seconds ladies and gents. What a rocket!!! Have to say, I didn’t spot this at first. This is a new one to add to my list !!! Should take at least 6-7 seconds. check out 15:35 -
Woah! I think that's the fastest train on the initial acceleration phase (between 0 and 3 mph), I don't think even the '72 stock or the BR422 accelerate that quickly. Maybe the BR182 if it's travelling without any load can match it.
How about waiting for the damn thing to actually be released before you judge it? Any Xbox users playing it currently are playing a DLC not fit for release.
No but I think this is one of the rare cases where something is so wrong, that is actually funny, and I would really like to buy it just to do silly montages with it.
The real life Taurus does 0 to 10 km/h in about 3-4 seconds.Still i would say there are some "small" technical difference between them
If they managed to get a ponderous 150 accelerating like that let's hope Rivet don't build a 185.. it'll be faster than the speed of light and arriving in Manchester before it's left Leeds.
I wish Rivet would give more attention to detail especially with their route building. They have the opportunity to make the West Cornwall product absolutely stunning. Prior to its withdrawal from sale, the route was abysmal, so with the extra time to work on correcting it, I hope they won’t disappoint again!!!
Here the real 150: My opinion is still the sounds are not perfect but far away from being bad. The acceleration is too quick from 0, but i remember matt put the handle straight into max notch. Its not released yet, so im asking me how people can talk of a "screw up".
It’s because of the notoriety of the 150, a lot of people will have been around or on board this train for many years, and still are to this day, so it’ll be a lot easier to recognise the faults. To be frank, the physics and sound implementation that rivet have done are pretty poor anyway.
Well from this aspect i understabd people are angry kinda, i mean an uk train implementation made by an uk sim studio should be done the right way. Better take the extra mile of effort, i mean those trains are still running and "almost" moving infront of their doors. Its not they replicate a chinese made locomotive running only in china.
It's not that, the BR187 received more hate while (arguably) being a better (or less worse) loco overall, and that's german. The physics of the 150 is so ridiculously unrealistic it shouldn't be sold without a complete rework IMO. It's not acceptable that an old diesel-hydralic DMU accelerates faster than a commuter electric EMU built in the late 2000s that has 4x the power/weight ratio (DB BR422), the Class 313 is on the edge, but still kind of acceptable, it accelerates like it's 25kV thyristor cousin, and that already is almost a deal breaker, but the 150 is just way too far. The bad sounds are just another effect of the terrible physics. And given the fact Rivet screwed up the BR204 (another Diesel Hydraulic) means it's not a learning curve issue.
Has anyone posting actually driven a 150? I have, and this release is indeed not like real life, but sounds OK. But be mindful of peoples efforts in developing this, be more understanding and less douche like in the throw away comments. Normal to expect revisions and updated to a model in most sims.
Thanks for your expert opinion, but the "is indeed not like real life" is enough to judge this product. And the sounds are not the problem, the physics are It's hard to be understanding when trains like the Class 166 prove that it's possible to create a realistic transmission/engine behaviour in TSW, and this is the second failed attempt of the developer in creating such train. And we have never seen any physics remodels, apart from adjumsents due to the adhesion physics brought up in TSW2, and Rivet themselves said it won't be done for the BR204 which suffers from a similar problem. If it gets fixed before release, than I will be happy for Rivet and for the community. But to this day we have been told that physics revisions are the most rare sort of fixes, because they require a partial re-build and complete re-testing of the timetable (on top of the physics rework itself). While I agree that I personally should've been more respectful towards Rivet, them releasing a product like this is almost like saying: "you just care about achievements and driving your fake train around so enjoy!" And while I don't want to judge Rivet (or any of the people who work there), as a potential customer I will judge their product. P.S. I've used this thread just for some cheap humor, that's why I might sound more douche than usual, for my actual opinion you can check my posts on the main Class 150 thread by LondonMidland.
