c2c is one of the many TOC’s that operate services in and out of London, and today, I’ll be making a case for why it should be in TSW 2.

C2c is a commuter rail network serving Great Britain ; specifically the country of England. The network encompasses 28 Stations, stretching over about 70 miles of track. It runs between the Fenchurch Street Station in London, to the Shoeburyness Station on the eastern coast of England. It consists of two branches, the Northern Branch, which runs via the London Underground District Line, and the Southern Branch, which runs via stations such as Dagenham Dock, and Rainham - a different rainham to the one featured in southeastern high speed . There’s also a connecting branch line that connects the Northern branch to the Southern Branch at the Upminster Station.

Throughout the years, the c2c brand was owned by multiple different companies, with Prism Rail owning it through the 1990s, National Express owning it from the early 2000s to 2017, and currently, Trenitalia, whom you may know from their rail services in Italy.

Similar to the Brighton Mainline, the c2c network runs from the city to the coast. In this case, from West to East instead of North to South , which would make a nice difference to TSW . I believe this is why the operator is named c2c, for city, or capital to coast.

Now, being that this route is only really run by one operator, you may have thought that there wouldn’t be too many services or a variety of them, and that isn’t necessarily true.

Overall, for c2c, there are 8 Trains Per Hour running along the core section of the route, from London Fenchurch St to Barking, with 4 Trains continuing along the mainline to Shoeburyness, 2 to Grays via Rainham, and 2 to Southend Central via Ockendon. You can also add 2 more trains per hour that branch off of the line at Barking, and run down to London Liverpool Street, however, this service is only run on Saturdays.

Besides c2c, there are three other types of trains that run along the route, one being the London Underground District Line between West Ham and Upminster, which sees 15 Trains Per Hour, with 3 of those trains terminating earlier at the Barking Station.

You also have the London Underground Hammersmith & City Line which runs about 6 trains per hour and runs between the West Ham and Barking Stations along the route.

Finally, there’s the London Overground, which could be seen terminating at the Barking Station.

There would be more services if the portion of the route between Barking and Liverpool Street was included, with one of those services featuring the Elizabeth Line, however, I won’t be going over it in this video, as the importance of this branch line is rather minimal.

The rolling stock included would be these :
    The BR class 387/3
    The BR class 357/0

The class 387/3 is a very similar EMU to the 387/2 , already featured on London commuter . The class 357/0 is another EMU , similar design to that of the class 171 ; the main difference being the 171 is diesel .

    Top : Class 387/3
    Bottom : Class 357/0

Gave up at the second paragraph due to inconsistencies...
There are three routes on the C2C network, and although you've described them you've done so in a wierd way

All three routes start at London Fenchurch Street and run alongside the District and Metropolitan LUL lines, sharing stops at West Ham, Barking and (other than the southern C2C route) Upminster
The southern C2C route is the shorter route between Fenchurch Street and Grays, via Dagenham dock, this line has freight at Dagenham, former home of the massive Ford works
The Central route runs to Barking and then via Tilbury and Grays before going onto Southend Central. This line has freight to several Thameside terminals around Grays and Tilbury
The Northern Route runs with the Central to Upminster then via Laindon to Pitsea, joining up with the Central again before continuing to Southend, this route then extends a further three stations to Shoeburyness

When the route to Fenchurch Street is unavailable trains are diverted at Barking onto Stratford and into Liverpool Street (completing the 28 stations)

LTS great but please not another Plasticstar era route. Set up back a few years with 312s or even further to the 302s!

The Class 387 is only temporary and c2c has just a handful of units, they should be replaced soon by new Aventra units.
In theory just the Class 357 would be needed for a full timetable, possibly a Freightliner Class 66 too for most of the freight.

Driving a 387 Plasticstar from Brighton to Victoria on BML constituted one of the most boring 55 minutes I've ever spent in a train sim... :)

Well I didn't realise exactly how bland they were and refunding the Rush Hour pack would have meant having to buy the Dreseden and American route at full price. I live in hope we will get a retro electric pack to spice things up a bit.
A great deal more character and electrothrash noise for one!

But they drive the same... Looked them up last night and they're basically the same to drive as a 313, maybe a bit more rustic but the same basic experience

Guess I just have a hankering after the old stuff! And the first gen EMUs were certainly more comfortable to travel on than this new gen stuff!

Well kind of. Very much padded seats but very much packed with Asbestos, so you'd be comfortable until your lungs started getting into trouble
