Finally on Thursday West Cornwall launches this Thursday (4TH NOVEMBER 2021) for all Platforms. With 2 US routes announced & another German route confirmed what do you think the next UK route will be for TSW2 (If any) before they move on to TSW3?
UK route or one of the home nations? Doesn't the UK cover that! To answer the question, something with Deltics ideally, either a section of the ECML or at worst a layer for NTP. Or the Woodhead route would be nice, overhead 1500DC with EM2's would be very welcome.
Birmingham Cross City line - they've done it recently for TS so they must have fresh research and route/train knowledge. New paintjob to swap London Midland for WM Trains and we're away!
WCML South would be great. Birmingham New Street to London Euston. Slight issue is that it ran like a dog on TS and at 113 miles it is longer than the usual TSW routes.
On the last stream Matt mentioned that he’d like to see a Welsh route. So, given his role, maybe we might be lucky soon?
I would love to see that, but a little further back with some green diesels in the early 60's. This would lend itself to having steam show up as subs or extra layers when that comes also.
Plus we get double track all the way, and clean(er) diesel's, won't have to take a shower every time like I do now with the 31! It would be one hell of route to launch Steam on that's much is fact. That would certainly allow Sam to do his Sean Bean impression on the trailer!
I think we need some northern UK content like Settle Carlisle or Fort William to Malaig. No more London based DLC please...or at least for a while...
ECML South and West Highland Line Extension are my guesses. That depends on whether or not a steam-era route gets released next, which could be the case.
I would love to see London Waterloo to Windsor & Eton riverside route brought into TSW2 Featuring South West trains with Windsor Castle featured as part of the background Scenery including the loop line at Feltham which branches off to Whitton in one Direction & Hounslow in the other. it would make the perfect Commuter route which features both fast & slow train services between London Waterloo & the royal borough of Windsor & Eton riverside. Or a redefined version of the Chatham Mainline featuring the 375 & 465 Networker & the Class 66 re-named as the Kent/Meadway Commuter
I'm still creating summoning circles for a WCML South route. In an ideal world Euston to Birmingham but I'd be happy with it going as far as Milton Keynes. With a Pendolino and a Class 350, maybe with the Voyager as DLC. And also Bakerloo layers. I just don't want the next one to be BR Blue era. I know it's popular but it really isn't my thing and NTP has given me more than enough for that era. I'd also really love a Welsh route, as a Welshman myself I definitely feel under represented. I'd love to see the South Wales Mainline (already in TS Classic) or even one of the Valley lines seeing as the 150 is in the game (especially seeing as the Merthyr branch is my local route). I have a feeling the next UK route will actually be Steam related, seeing as DTG have announced the next American and German routes but not the next British one.
Where are you getting that from? There's no announced plans at all to make a TSW3 release, if they are ever going to.
1066 Line with CEP units and maybe use Hastings DEMU 1001 as a railtour option. Hastings diesels did Hastings - Tonbridge shuttle trips last year as a tour. If they made this route using CEP's as the main service then put the DEMU in running special shuttles
West Coastway for me. A great route with some interesting short branches like Bognor Regis and picturesque scenery.
Personally, either bring back Bristol - Exeter from TS Classic or do the South Wales Mainline from Newport to Swansea. Set them during early Privatisation or Intercity era so we can get Valenta HSTs. We have the 150 from WCL which could be an added layer and they could either include or bring out as further DLC a Pacer or 158.
Midland Mainline: Leicester-Sheffield-Nottingham and Lincoln. Play with new DMUs like the Class 222 meridian, Class 158 and Class 170. Also maybe the odd freight train.
I'm thinking it'll be a route relating to the upcoming 'Steam' project and stuff DTG are working, I hope it's 1950s Riviera
I would actually love to see another Great Western Railway route and I think the next one should be the Dawlish Sea Wall but this time with a modern train which the Class 800/802 and the extra layers can be the HST, Class 166 , EWS Class 66 and maybe the Class 150 in GWR Livery. I think its about time the Class 800/802 makes an appearance in the game as many companies now use these types of trains for their railways. They where able to bring the 395 in so why not.
