The West Coastway line is a railway line in England linking the densely populated conurbations of Brighton/Hove/Littlehampton and Southampton/Portsmouth, with 1.3 million people between them. It has short southward branches to Littlehampton and Bognor Regis. Some trains using part of the route operate as direct continuations of passenger services to/from London, particularly those to the branch stations mentioned.

    the locos:

Yes, Brighton to Southampton. It would be perfect if the West Coast Route was opened

A great suggestion, the West Coastway (WCW) is my most requested next route. This route may be a popular choice as East Coastway (ECW) and London Commuter are very popular already and would complement both nicely.

Here you go (see below). The services show how much variety and interest the route could provide with both the 377 and, importantly, the brand-new 313 DLC. The 313 I think personally deserves this route as it operates only on the ECW and WCW in real-life, so would be logical. Additionally, it expands more of the Southern network in addition to ECW and London Commuter, increasing immersion and adding AI trains from other routes.

The WCW would have a wide array of services – long and short – to keep the route fresh, with an added bonus of additional ones coming from the Arun Valley Line and Brighton Mainline. This would make the route the most busiest around the junction at Ford station.

These comprise different stopping patterns which the player could drive to/from:

    Brighton-Hove Shuttle

    Brighton-West Worthing

    Brighton-Littlehampton

    Brighton-Portsmouth Harbour and/or Portsmouth & Southsea (driveable to/from Barnham)

    Brighton-Southampton Central (driveable to/from Barnham)

Littlehampton-London Victoria (driveable to/from Hove; originating to/from Brighton Mainline/London Commuter)

    Littlehampton-Bognor Regis Shuttle

    Barnham-Bognor Regis Shuttle

    Littlehampton-Portsmouth (driveable to/from Barnham)

Bognor Regis-London Victoria (driveable to/from Ford; originating via Arun Valley Line, you'd drive this 4/8-car service)

Portsmouth-London Victoria (driveable to/from Barnham; in real life this 4-car service eventually joins up with the 4/8-car service from Bognor Regis (see above) at Horsham – located on the Arun Valley Line – once-an-hour before continuing to Victoria)

Southampton Central-London Victoria (AI train only and would be seen between Barnham and Ford; this 4-car service eventually joins with the Bognor-originating service at Horsham similar to above, once-an-hour)

    EXTRA Services
Barnham-Brighton - A very limited service (twice-daily?) by GWR - opportunities for a Class 166 DLC layer to add some variety.

Littlehampton-Hove - Limited services operated by Thameslink that would eventually continue on its service as AI after Hove joining the Brighton Mainline - if a Class 700 was ever added, this would be a nice bonus layer in addition to the rolling stock being on London Commuter and any other potential Thameslink routes in the future.
