Hi As I mentioned in my Facebook post - lots to celebrate with the 150 now. Lovely improvements as I listed. However, Still a few things to fix. I am going to provide some feedback that should be passed to the physics / sound team please. * * * 150/2 Urgent Fixes Needed Acceleration is too brisk to 30mph. Full power acceleration should be… ( timed from when unit starts moving ) 0-10mph - 7-9 seconds ( not 4 seconds ) 10-20 mph - 10-11 sec 20-30mph - 14-15 sec Once past 30mph it seems great. Brake Notch 1 should allow ALL notches and revs for throttle. Shouldn’t be limited to notch 2 in brake step 1. Nothing should be allowed in brake notch 2 or 3 though. Should be a 2 second delay between rev up, and moving off ( and as mentioned above this is far too quick at the moment, Not just the delay moving off, but also the accelerate rate. Brake rub is not audible at all and should be the very distinct rubbing sound as you can hear at 2m10 in the linked video. It is very prominent and characteristics to all tread brake 2nd gen DMUs. This is a big big feature for many people. Myself included. It is not a quiet sound. If it is there we can’t hear it so it needs to be MUCH louder. * * * Small enhancements tweaks needed Brake squeal should only come in at around or below 5-6mph when coming to a stop ( on average ) Track joints can be a bit louder. Revs should spool down to idle slightly quicker going from notch 7-off * * * One of my piano students drives these every day so as always I am very happy to help in any way I can. He is a very useful reference person to have
Another thing to add; - When having Safety systems activated, and you switch Ends, your alerts will still going off in the Rear Cab, applying the E-Brakes. I keep reading that all Safety systems are active by Default in RL, so I would assume there would realistically be no need to disable them when changing Ends.
Love it Gary. Can we just confirm that you have heard that the sound does not decrease/increase in revs when in second gear or transmission change?(This happens when adding/decreasing throttle. E.g. notch 1-7) It only shuts off after 10 seconds at notch 0. Hope that makes sense. I will send in a ticket but need to know whether I copy/paste your notes above?
Forgot that, sorry. Yes I understood it that in second gear / direct drive the throttle position shouldn’t affect revs but just volume, only as the speed increases should the revs get higher and higher ? Is this correct ? also in second gear it will still keep accelerating even at top 75mph in notch 1, 2 etc …forgot to mention that too.
AWS flower is always yellow not sure if that's normal or not. Doors wont relock and get stuck open and you have to manually close all of them. The smoke from the exhaust vanishes till you restart the engine.
I had a issue with the doors as well at station would not close for me, so I went and closed them manually. But that did not help and was not able to continue on.
This is at the back of the AP manual. ( which is obviously correct because attention to detail is their speciality
i shut down one cab went to the other tried to close them and 1 car closed the other car stayed up i closed them all manually then opened from the cab and they worked again but not the door alarm went off when it opened and closed.
I had another door issue last night at St Ives but was able to manually close the doors, to complete the timetable run. But I get it is frustrating.
its just bad when you have a 4 car set and you have to get out and close each door and hope it doesnt happen again at the next stop.
