Just a thought but have DTG considered adding the GWR Class 43 HST’s or possibly Class 66 locomotives as a AI layer for occasional passing traffic at Norton Fitzwarren on the mainline?
Potentially we could have the Class 150/2 as AI as well (albeit in GWR green livery) once it is released by Rivet on the upcoming West Cornwall Local route. Furthermore, we could also layer in GWR green units at Brighton on ECW and the upcoming London Commuter routes to reflect Portsmouth and Cardiff services along West Coastway.
This type of layer shouldn't be too difficult as it only requires a few services to run a short distance from portal to portal but the end result is a line that looks so much more realistic than the 'ghost town' we currently have.
Hiya, Thanks for the feedback. We tried to add a 'Castle' HST into the West Somerset timetable when the route was upgraded earlier in the year, however the timetable just got into a tis no matter how we tried to set it up. An 0800 arrival onto the route from Taunton through to Minehead, and a 1815 departure back are modelled, but currently disconnected until we look at it again. As the WSR is a single line operation with passing loops at various stations, there are actually only so many paths during the day for trains to run. With the upgrade earlier this year, the final available path was taken by the TVL Class 101 DMU diagram. However, on my to-do list (which is vast!) is to enable the WCL Class 150 or NTP Class 101 to swap into this path.
