Well, that one loco specifically might be interesting, the rest of those fallen flags should be NS property now.
That's what I figured. I was genuinely curious though because I knew Conrail technically is still a company (as CSAO) and I'm not really sure how licensing revolving around Conrail would be/is handled involving the heritage unit. But since the heritage unit is in TS, then it could be in TSW 2.
After Conrail was split up, CSAO made no fuss about NS and CSX ex-Conrail locos and cars wearing Conrail liveries, which they did for years before finally being repainted. I wouldn't be surprised if the logos-and-liveries IP was sold along with the rolling stock, not retained by what is now just a rail-support and warehouse company. ------------------------- There shouldn't be any licensing problem at all with the fallen flags that became constituents of NS. It's just a question of DTG investing artist time- which they probably won't. Adding a rainbow to a 395 is a much smaller job than doing a full Southern RR livery!
The whole Conrail licensing agreement is confusing as hell, in TS, the Conrail Logo is allowed thru the NS heritage unit pack, (In which I assume it was only thru Norfolk Southern, who I assmue already had an agreement with the CSAO for the heritage unit). However when it comes to ACTUAL Conrail units, DTG does not have a license for those, as seen with VRC's C39-8 (Which are blank blue with NS patches) and the upcoming DTM SD45-2 CSX pack (Which will have an unbranded Conrail SD45-2 and Caboose).
skyhook- sean I know this post is about horns, but I hope you have been able to get proper engine sounds for the ES44AC. Please don't use the sounds from the AC4400CW.
Hi, i am currently looking into this also and have reached out based on some feedback to a few places that could potentially provide such audio. I will be putting out a call to help from the community on this forum to see if anyone can also help us achieve this. Obviously Youtube clips will not be usable due to a quality and copyright issue.
