Beyond the announcement of new DLC, should the roadmap include updates such as bug fixes from 2nd & 3rd party developers? Curious to hear your thoughts. Thank you.
TSW update is free, TS update is an enhanced package and can be charged separately. Is that understood?
If you can pay an extra £9.9 in the enhancement package, a third party will be happy to provide you with an update, hahaha.
It does, it's just that there aren't any updates coming for third party stuff Looking at you, Rivet...
The roadmap doesn’t have bug fixes on it at all any longer, hasn’t for a long time. Some major issues appear on it but normal bugs aren’t included, so nothing a 3rd party has planned as a fix would go on it, as DTG don’t even put their own on there.
That begs the question do you think DTG should list their bug fixes? I think they should and it gives players the confidence in the product imo.
I think it would definitely be a good idea to have a public list of "reported and acknowledged" issues, so at least players now what to report, because there is no point writing countless threads and tickets about bugs they already know of.
They had a discussion about this like around feburary i think. The problem was lots of the time by the time the bug was put on the roadmap as reported it had already been fixed, and it was a nightmare trying to track all the info, so they dropped adding stuff that would/could be off after less than 2 roadmaps
This. A base of all bugs that are aknowledge...just à la MSFS, with those worked on, and when should the by resolved.. Ah, kind of dreamers are we ? By the way Excel sheets wouldnt fit, at least Acces needed
It used to get confusing when they did. Even now you get Adam saying he’s fixed things on roadmap streams and then they don’t get released for a long time. The roadmap was a proper mess. So they just put the fixes on the patch notes after updates now and even then they don’t go into much detail. More comprehensive patch notes are all we can hope for really, as a list of bug fixes still in the works will just get as confusing as it was a year ago and end up not being of much use.
I would say this is an excuse just to not do it. I bet for everyone 'fix' that DTG put forward we can come up with several that haven't. Some fixes have been around for months and updates to the older routes even more. I think it is more a case that DTG do not want to be accountable to us
This is the most frustrating thing. Adam who tirelessly fixes the preserved stuff only to wonder when it will be released. It must be annoying to him as it is frustrating to us. DTG say they are going to release more regular updates, maybe on newer releases but certainly not the older stuff. I agree the Roadmap was a mess but for me it needs organising. All what is needed is a list with the fixes needed and a check mark when they are done, simple and it will bring in more confidence to the game imo.
Instead of putting bugfixes in the Roadmap, perhaps simply a continually updated stickied post in the Announcements subforum. Assign each one a label, for e.g. "reported," "being worked on," "fixed," and "release scheduled."
