i feel like we need more Amtrak trains like the Amtrak metro liner cab car, the p42, the f40ph npcu, and the Acela.
If you look at my signature there are two of them Long Island Railroad Babylon Branch and NJ Transit Raritan Valley Line.
If DTG can even get the license for them, which is pretty much DTG's biggest roadblock for adding US (And Canadian) passenger routes.
MARC would be a good get, because it would enable doing the Penn Line, the southern end of the Northeast Corridor between Washington and Baltimore.
It feels like we need more passenger routes from every country besides the UK and Germany to be honest
I wouldn't object to something west or mid west. LA Metrolink out to Palmdale or maybe the California Zephyr out of Denver towards Granby. Something like the Kansas City to St Louis run would be great but the problem is most of the Inter City services are too long to fit TSW as it stands.
I'm a Brit. But I personally liked the LIRR despite it being empty. So I'd like if they added something like the Metro North New Haven Line or Hudson line
KC to St. Louis would definitely be out of the question, given that the (straight line) distance between the two is a little over 230 miles (or ~385 km).
Oh I know, as I said the distances are an issue. Even St Louis to Jefferson City is around 130 miles. It's just I know from playing the old SIAM Traffic Control game, it's a busy railway, with the route dividing west of Jeff. City, either via Sedalia or the River Sub. It will have to remain a dream.
I wouldn't mind the Far Rockaway branch to/from Atlantic Term and the Long Beach branch to/from Penn Station.
It gives you the entire section from Kansas City to St Louis over a 24 hour period. Think of it as similar to Train Despatcher 3, but it is very old now and only runs with a DOS emulator.
Yes, for the Boston Sprinter route on which it can reach the full 150 mph. Tilting technology will probably be implemented by the DB Br 612 coming with Dresden-Chemnitz, so that will be ready for the Acela as well.
Although I’m not a fan of American routes, I can agree with you that there are barely any passenger routes.
Bring on NJ Transit with RVL and NJCL. For RVL go to my signature. Want 750 v DC third rail 24/7 operations then the Babylon BRanch
Ditto on the vintage passenger trains. PRR, ATSF, B&O, C&O, N&W, NYC, Milwaukee Road, SP, WP, and UP vintage routes would be amazing. I really want F-Units, E-Units, Alco PAs, Baldwin Centipedes, PRR GG1s, PRR E44s, FM Trainmasters, and FM Erie-Built Units. Early Geeps (GP7, GP9, GP20, GP18), SD7/9s, and FM H-12-44s would be great to see for freight services on routes. We also need to see some really amazing US steam locos (ATSF 4-8-4s, Big Boys, Challengers, FEFs, N&W Class As, Js, and Y6s, PRR T1 Duplexes, NYC Hudsons, Niagaras, and Mowhawks, SP GS4s, etc.) My route ideas: -SP Peninsula Corridor -NYC Water-Level Route -Grand Canyon RR (either modern or vintage) -PRR Horseshoe Curve -PRR Northeast Corridor -SP Coast Route -Pacific Surfliner -Milwaukee Road route -UP Sherman Hill (1950s era) -Metra Route -Brightline/FEC -ACE -Caltrain Capitol Corridor/San Joaquins -Amtrak Cascades -Coaster -Cass Scenic RR -White Pass and Yukon -Metrolink
