If someone can tell how much space Train Simulator occupies with all british DLCs installed? I want to buy a new ssd, so will 500 gb be enough?
Yes, I have most UK stuff and a decent amount of Armstrong Powerhouse / Just Trains bits and my install is 180GB. I have unticked the DLC for all the non UK stuff to free up a bit of room.
Just be aware this hobby can be addictive my current Railworks folder is 460GB although I do have DLC from a lot of 3rd parties as well as Steam. I am currently looking to upgrade my 1TB SSD.
You can get sizes of DLCs from Steamdb.info without owning them or installing them: https://steamdb.info/app/24010/depots/ To see what DLC is which depot, hover over the link in the "Extra info" column. There are too many DLCs there to list in this thread, like I did in similar topic for TSW2, so go to Steamdb.info page linked above and find the DLCs that interest you on the list of depots.
My Railworks folder is 540gb and I have 114gb left on a 1TB ssd. Have transferred TSW2 to an additional SSD and it runs well. So Montes_1234 get a computer with at least 1TB. It is surprising how quickly it gets used up.
It will depend on whether you install any repaints or other third party DLC, freeware routes and stock. My Assets folder is 627Gb and my Content folder has 139 routes The Railworks folder shows 684Gb But I have been playing the game since 2012 - and collecting a lot of stuff
The is UK and Europe with a few Chinese routes throw in. I have routes and stock from UK, Austria, Belgium, Czech, France, Germany, Netherlands, Romania, Slovenia, South Africa, Switzerland. Most of my US Routes were removed to save space and I never ran them much.
