Hello today I'll be taking about Mukran and it's storage sidings: Mukran is a district in Sassnitz, Germany. It is mainly known for having a passenger ferry port and sidings which have countless disused Deutsche Bahn locos which DB dumps there when they are no longer in use this includes: BR 155s,151s,111s,232s,215s, diesel shunters, BR 647s,628s,611s, 2nd Generation Dostos, 3rd Generation Dostos, Modus-Wagens, n wagens and countless freight cars. It's quite a sad sight seeing all these perfectly usable locos dumped here to rot. Some of the trains dumped here a actually quite new like the Modus-Wagen from the late 90s! What replaces these "old" locos you may ask? new unreliable modern trains of course! Every time I drive past Mukran I cry seeing all these trains here just sitting there not receiving care and attention like all the others...
Seems like those 155s were on their way to the scrapper. Just checked - the locos in the front of the last picture seem to be goners by now. All the other ones were probably scrapped, as well. 155 175-3 (scrapped 09.12.2020) 155 032-6 (scrapped 02.06.2020) Source All dates are in European DD/MM/YYYY format.
I believe the 232s there have also all been scrapped as well, it's a sad sight. Lets hope someone saves the rare trains currently there (such as the Modus-Wagen sets)
recycled? As in scrapped? Scrapping the old trains may seem like a good way to keep Mukran clean but it gets rid of countless trains that are in perfectly good condition
