I am having a problem and most probably doing something wrong. I cannot get the train to move. If I uncouple the loco it moves ok. If I connect it back to the Vans it does not. I have looked everywhere to see if it has a Vacuum / Air brake setting wrong. So what am I missing! If I apply power 20% it just wheel slips
    Thanks in advance.

It certainly sounds like the loco is set to air brakes while the vans are vacuum braked.
Haven’t driven the class 40 in a while, could the brake setting be in just the one cab at all?

The brake selector is on the back wall of the No.1 end. You need to ensure its set to vacuum for the vans.

Thanks Gilly that was it! Back wall set to Air Brake! One has to ask WHY the loco was setup like that in the first place. BUT I will check next time. I knew it must be something, also was looking for a big handle to turn LOL.
