Hi all just started playing sherman Hill and I'm liking it so far but I have noticed 1 thing that is glaringly obvious is it just me or do the locos sound like the class 66 (the ying ying ying) it's most noticeable when train is on neutral and idling i know its not a huge game breaking issue but it does break immersion hearing the familiar class 66 noise on these locos lol has anyone else noticed this it must be a bug or something i doubt it was intentional
They used modified sounds from the Class 66 for the SD70ACe at least, so no surprise it sounds familiar. Hopefully in the future they can source some better sounds and update it. I don’t have the route yet and didn’t pay much attention to the SD40-2 sound during the live stream, so don’t know if they also used the sound for that.
DTG had a survey tour scheduled for an SD70ACe, but it was canceled due to COVID. They were forced to do the next-best thing, which was to modify the sounds of a Class 66 (same engine, but 12 cyl vs 16)
