For those who haven't seen the article yet, tomorrow DTG are releasing a special Amtrak 50th collection with 5 specially painted P42DC locos. The best news is, they will be free for 1 week for everyone. I think I'll be picking this up to add to the collection.
Not sure why they were painted on the incorrect Miami P42s though, and not the more accurate RSC EB P42......
Actually, maybe I won't get it after all. The P42DC in the store (empire builder) only has scenarios for a route I cannot get as it is not available outside of the US (Marias Pass) and I won't by a loco for a route I don't/can't own. DTG should pull any locos they release with scenarios for routes that can't be had outside the US as it's not fair to non-US customers.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the EB P42 a repackage from G-Trax's P42 from RW years (probably just me after looking, but who knows)? Either way, this should be a fun pack to pick up (even if it's free for a week) even if I don't have the WPB route yet too. (My like is the Midnight Blue livery, with Pepsi Can right behind)
It uses the Miami P42DC, which is horrid looking and inaccurate in every single possible way, to the point of not even being a P42DC at all (it's a reskinned P32AC-DM), but it's available with the Miami - WPB route, which is globally available. Plus, to take away the EB P42 would be a terrible idea for those who want the many reskins, TruRail's AP-style enhancement pack, or to run it on a different route.
Didn't they say they were making some sort of improvements along with the reskins? But hey, free pack, I really can't complain
As long as you grab it for free it's great. The repaints are of nice quality, but if you actually pay $19.99 (the price after the free week) I kinda feel bad for you if anything. They're not worth $19.99. Maybe $5 on the marketplace at most.

Why should use the Superliners as the coaches? Miami corridor almost don't have Superliner scheduled to run. Nowadays is just only Silver Services, and the Silvers are with Amfleets and Viewliners. Why don't use the Amfleets and Viewliners? The size of P42 is accurate, but the Amfleets, Viewliners and Heritages don't. Why don't make them accurate in this dlc? Also, some players make the Viewliner baggage recently. Would Dovetail like to make the own Viewliner baggage?
I like a lot this dlc of the Amtrak 50th Year Anniversary but I was hopping to see the Phase IV Heritage unit.
Later, Florida will have the Floridian version of Northeast Regional, the Miami Station will have 5 more flight of Amtrak. Maybe it is the time to make more Amfleets, and the Miami Station should be more realistic, the existing Miami Station is too short, the Miami station have plan to relocate before, and it is postponed, it was because the new station's platform does not long as the Miami station. If the Miami station is short like in the DLC, the station might have been relocated. The length is the feature of Miami Station, why do not simulate it?
